Is a rare skin weapon worth anything without mods?

The title pretty much says it all. I found a purple serpents axe in Sorrow's Furnace, but it doesn't have a damage mod. I would guess that makes it worthless, but with the inscriptions, is it still worth something?

Purple items are pretty much worthless. Anything found in Sorrow's Furnace is not inscriptable (only Nightfall, EOTN, and Elite Chest drops are inscriptable).

But to answer the base question, yes, a rare skin can be worth quite a bit even with terrible mods i.e. Crystalline Sword, Celestial Compass, Eternal Blade, can be high req and terrible mods, but still will fetch alot in trade.
