Easily powered through with a good party of Heroes and Henchmen. I don't like reformatting my entire skillbar to revolve around the use of Wild Blow.

Which one? The "heal you for 40hp" one or the Firestorm one?

Fine, since everyone insists on pointing out that the original poster did not want suggestions, but wanted to point out that the elementalist had an easier job defeating Shiro that the warrior, here's my view:

It's nice to have someone tank Shiro and break Battle scars with Wild blow. Shiro can heal with Battle scars, which can make the fight a long one - and endurance is a problem against Shiro. Parties get weaker with time, as they lose energy, while Shiro begins to use stronger and stronger skills.

Another point is that Battle scars get stronger with the party's spike attacks. Elementalists seem to have access to the highest damaging skills at all, feeding Battle scars the most.

In the end, the problem for warriors is that you can at most have a single Melee combattant in this mission, and a party that relies on kiting will work best. Do note, however, Shiro's shadowstep ability could counter kiting.

I had a similar experience Henchy/Heroing with my Ranger. Not having bothered to research the mission, besides looking up to see what the bonus was, I fought Shiro next to the last shrine I captured. At one point, he wiped half the party, including one of the henchy monks, but I got lucky and managed to defeat him. After putting in a little research I figured out how to beat Shiro and have Henchy/Heroed all 8 other chars--I had to do my Monk twice because I got overzealous and killed Shiro before capturing the last Shrine. No hints or tips offered, there are plenty of those already.

My favorite time doing the mission was going in with my Dervish about 10 minutes after my Glorious Guild Leader took a PUG in with his Dervish. Most of his party was on TS and I listened to them fighting their way through. His Dervish had been sitting in the mission for almost 2 months and mine had just gotten there—I was still doing All Alone in the Dark when he went in. He had all the usual problems with PUGs: over-agro, people not having skills, lack of communication, not focusing on target, etc, etc. They nearly wiped when first taking on Shiro and The Lich, but managed to recover and eventually ended up taking out Shiro first, then killing The Lich, without getting the bonus. The battle was very entertaining to listen to, with much gnashing of teeth and swearing at those in the party who weren’t on TS. I will give them credit though, as they managed to stay together and complete the mission despite half the team having high DP.

As I said, I started out about 10 minutes after them, but I ended up finishing ahead of them, with the complete bonus and no deaths in my Henchy/Hero party. I didn’t bother telling him that I had finished it, as I felt it only decent to let his battle scars fully heal rather rubbing salt in the wounds. I trust your Ele, however, has been purchasing salt in the 50 pound bags and dousing your warrior in it.

I did it the mission first try with my Paragon, hero/hench and I followed the walkthrough at guildwiki and there was no problem. I belive on of my henchmen may have died once or twice from impossible odds but it was no problem.

I made sure I had a stance ender, Wild Throw and an IAS and that was it just had to attack shiro till he died.

I used...
Heros
1. Master of Wispers (Spoil Victor, and Complicate(Mesmer Skill))
2. Sauske (SF)
3. Zhed (SF)
Henchmen
4. Khim
5. Mhenlo
6. Gehraz
7. Odurra

this post wasn't really meant to be a shiro strategy discussion, but thank you all for your advice.

Bob,

You're right, unwaking Waters is a royal bonafied pain in the butt to solo with a warrior. I beat it solo though, and I'll beat this mission too.

zonzai, I understand the frustration that results in the combination of a seriously tweaked out purposefully overpowered skill and trying to get a pug that can counter it. It's anet's misguided attempt to make the game challenging.

My only advice is this: I've played this game since the beta days, and after joining too many pugs to count, one gets the sense if they have what it takes for the task at hand. Guage the maturity of the players (spelling, grammar, abstract thought at discussion potential snares, familiarity with the situation, etc). For missions like this, I'd make sure that the main bases are covered: in this case, a stance tank or other character capable of standing up to shiro, a few supporting characters, and some damage dealers, and a hexer/enchanter, etc. Try to anticipate the maturity/familiarity with the game players, their roles and how they fit in with the task ahead.
I've completed this mission 5 times with pugs, and it didn't usually take more than a try or two, because I was pretty selective with the pug I joined. If there wasn't one I was happy with that I could join, I did something else for a while and came back.

So, I finally got around to trying it again and managed to do it using the spread out strategy that I devised before with wild blow and a curse necro.

I had tried that before but not with the curses. That really added a lot of damage to the combo. Thanks for the advice all.

Unfortunately, my lemmingist doesn't feel special any more.

-EDIT-

Vitas, I was trying it without a group at all. That's why. But yes, selecting the proper PUG is important. Thank you though.

My first response to the OP was basically..

Skill > Time Spent.

I was able to beat GoM with heroes/henchies on my warrior. Either pull out after he activates it, or bring some defensive stance to block.
