N/A Solo Farmer Stygian Veil
Update 22/02/2007 --> Screenshots
Skills:
1. Awaken The Blood
2. Suffering
3. Feast of Corruption (Elite)
4. Desecrate Enchantments
5. Defile Enchantments
6. Lightbringer's Gaze
7. Shadow of Haste
8. Dash
Armour:
For this run you will be needing 2 armour sets, one normal set (runes are: best vigor you can afford, minor soul reaping, blood magic, attunement) and the other a 55 or 105 hp set. The best is the armor with + energy. The headpiece should be curses upgraded by a superior curses.
Attributes:
Curses: 12 + 4 = 16
Soul Reaping: 4 + 1 = 5
Blood Magic: 7 + 1 = 8
Shadow Arts: 10
You'll need both 2 attributes quest's for the 200 attributes.
Weapon:
A staff with at least +15 energy, no health modifiers. 20% half recharge all spells and 20% half cast on curses is best. I use The Stonereaper.
Use:
Head out of the Domain of Anguish into Stygian Veil. Head east. Avoid aggroing any enemies. Run up to the two whisper NPCs and talk to the one not offering a quest. Take the hunt. Take a look around down in the breaching if you see a chest. Then talk to the other, quest giving, NPC take the quest "Breaching the Stygian Veil".
Run North East, away from were you started and along the trench wall. Three groups of six Stygian Hungers will spawn and run towards the two NPCs, grouping here.
Before you cast Suffering on them cast Awaken the Blood (only when charged), to make Suffering last longer, after the escape use Feast of Corruption, you will do more damage with Awaken the Blood on
Shadow of Haste trick:
Note: You do not have to use this trick with the STYGIAN HUNGERS!!
Activate Shadow of Haste away from the mobs (at least 1 1/2 aggro bubble away from the mobs), start running to the mobs, when Shadow of Haste is recharged for almost 1/2 way ( little lower then number 7, in your skill pic) when ready to run you cast a spell (Suffering, Feast of Corruption) on the mob, and as soon it hits use Dash to end the stance, you will now be teleported to place where you activated Shadow of Haste. Make also sure that Awaken The Blood is on when you cast a spell on the mob, this will make things goes faster . Keep using this trick untill the mobs are dead.
STYGIAN HUNGERS:
These resemble large Shambling Horrors, and being a necromancer you should be able to recognise them. Stygian Hungers are easy to kill, they are touch necromancers and use Dark Aura, so Desecrate Enchantments is useful for these. They use Grenth's Balance, so wear your 55 or 105hp armour set.
Target the nearest foe to you. Select to cast Suffering, you will now be run automatically to the edge of spell casting range and then cast the skill.
As soon as you finish casting RUN AWAY. Use Dash to do this. Turning the camera around while casting can make this easier. Keep running till aggro is broken (this will not take long) and then wait for the enemy to resettle. Then run in and cast Feast of Corruption. Then run away again. Run in again and use Desecrate Enchantments or Feast of Corruption if it is charged. Repeat this until the mob dies. You want to keep Suffering on the foes at all times (when possible) so they do not regenerate health. Ideally, you want to finish them off with Feast of Corruption, because if the degen to death you may not receive the drops.
Don’t run in till you have the energy to cast, the energy needed to run away will regen before you have finished casting. Use Lightbringer's Gaze if energy is low. This should not be needed as you have enough time to wait for your energy to regenerate in most situations. The time to use Lightbringer's Gaze will be if you are in danger of letting an enemy degen to death. It is weak, and should only be used in these situations or when time is sparse.
After the mob is killed run away again. They will be replaced by another mob. The order of which these appear is shown in the table below. Once the entire sequence of mobs from the near side have been killed you can then repeat the process for the centre groups and then the group on the far side. After a far side mob is wiped out you have a few seconds that you can use to grab your most valuable drops.
How they will apear:
Set:
1
Near Side: Stygian Hungers
Centre: Stygian Hungers
Far Side: Stygian Hungers
2
Near Side: Stygian Brutes
Centre: Stygian Horrors
Far Side: Stygian Hungers
3
Near Side: Stygian Golems
Centre: Stygian Fiends
Far Side: Stygian Brutes
4
Near Side: Stygian Hungers
Centre: Stygian Golems
Far Side: Stygian Fiends
5
Near Side: Stygian Hungers
Centre: Stygian Hungers
Far Side: Stygian Hungers
6
Near Side: Mixed
Centre: Mixed
Far Side: Mixed
All groups consist of 6 mobs, all but the mixed groups consist of mobs of all the same type.
Mixed groups consist of:
2 Stygian Hungers
1 Stygian Horror
1 Stygian Golem
1 Stygian Fiend
1 Stygian Brute
How To deal with them:
STYGIAN BRUTES:
These are warriors who resemble Jagged Horrors. These are also easy to kill. Only use Desecrate Enchantments / Defile Enchantments if you have plenty of energy. Only Suffering and Feast of Corruption are practical. Use Dash to escape from them.
STYGIAN GOLEMS:
These are dervishes that resemble large Flesh Golems. These are impossible to run away from as they use Harrier’s Haste to catch up with you. However, the Shadow of Haste trick still works against these perfectly. U can use Desecrate Enchantments / Defile Enchantments of these if you wish as they use enchantments, also use Suffering and Feast Of Corruption. Use the Shadow of Haste trick to escape.
STYGIAN FIENDS:
These are rangers that resemble large Bone Fiends. They use Crippling Shot, four interrupt skills including one that causes dazed. These are caster killers. Use suffering and Feast of Corruption. Use the Shadow of Haste trick to escape.
STYGIAN HORRORS:
These are warriors that resemble large bone horrors. They use Bull’s Charge meaning u can't escape from them with Dash. Use Suffering and Feast of Corruption. Use the Shadow of Haste trick to escape.
MIXED MOBS:
Treat these as any other mob. Use the Shadow of Haste trick with these. You can use Desecrate Enchantments / Defile Enchantments if you wish, but it will have a weaker impact on half the mob. The Hungers are most likely going to survive longer than the others because they will use Grenth’s Balance to heal themselves if they get the chance while on low health. Once these are all that remain you can switch to your 55 or 105hp armour set and kill them as you would a mob of Hungers normally.
Damage with FoC:
http://img480.imageshack.us/my.php?image=focdmghk7.jpg
Conclusion:
Doing this run will take a little while. Selling drops to the merchant will make you at least 2k, not much to be honest. However, there is a chance of getting a Stygian Gemstone (or other rare items) as a drop. In my first run I had 4 Stygian gemstones . But some other runs I only had 1 or nothing at all . You can also sell your stones for about 5k each, but that's up to you.
You will gain alot of experience and well over 100 lightbringer points from one run.
I is advised to bring along a key if chest hunting is your thing.
The experience points you get:

The drops you get:

My computer crashed last week, so I have to make a new video... but it's comming.
bladeturner
I wonder if maybe I am doing this wrong. Everything works nicely untill I get to the golems. Because shadow of haste has such a long downtime (45s) the golems always have time to regen before then next hit. I can only keep suffering on them (with AtB) and even that finishes before the next hit. Do you have an order for hitting these things?

I wainting for video, ty.

I just tried this and it works like a charm, very effective although slow as hell. >.> ty

AHAB you have to put 5 SUP runes on your armor, also -50hp cesta --> 55hp
I'm using thew stonereaper only, so no cesta (monk has it) --> 105Hp.
For the video, my computer crashed , so i have to make a new video.
I lost all of my screenshots and video's

Looks cool, although just solo trapping with a ranger is probably much easier. Also, as with the ranger, it is probably more efficient, and will make u more money, if u just do first large mob over and over again. However, im not sure because necromancer is probably alot different then trapping.

What for you need 55 or 105 health armor set?

Maybe you are wright I don't no... I only have a ranger at lvl 7
So if you do not have a ranger, this build works fine

Crux X
With the SoH Trick and just dashing away from the hungers it seems like im getting out of the range for drops and xp. Any tips for this? Maybe you can take me on a run or put up ics of exact standing placement?
Thx- Crux
