This will in no way impact the game, but I figured it'd be easy to add, wouldn't really have any negative impacts and might be a "cool factor" thing that'd make people smile. But I suggest that if you raise a minion from a boss' body, then it glow with the same aura that the boss did. Totally useless, I know, but I'd get a kick out of it.

Since it's PvE, you could make it actually mean something, if you wanted, like a small boost in health, armor or damage depending on the type of class. Or not.

I'd raise a Golem from the boss so I could keep it as a makeshift special pet.

While I don't really care for the idea, I don't dislike it either.

I think the necro is powerful enough as it is, but I really get into threads on their skills and such, improvements/new ideas, and I like that you're out there thinking about it.

To improve on your idea though...

Give another elite similar to Flesh Golem.

But instead of raising something that looks the same every time, even from something small you get this big flesh Golem.......derh...

Skill:

Re-Animate : Exploit the nearest corpse turning it into a Zombie with no energy pool. Boss Zombies have +1 health regen when raised.

I don't balance skill costs, and don't try cause If anet uses an Idea they'll use what they want anyways.

The Mechanics.
The body actually gets back up, and behaves exactly like minions.
Zombies can use any skill it had before death unless they cost energy. Signets and adrenaline skills for example.
A Zombie risen from a fallen boss starts with +1 Health regen, and has one less degen when it hits max.
Only 1 can be in play at a time per necromancer.
Give each race an undead skin/texture maybe. Bosses retain their glow.
Boss Zombies stand X% chance of dropping the weapon they were using when they perish.

Don't mean to hijack, just improving on the idea and making it something with impact.

I personally think that the one thing they should add is minion growth with level.

That would mean that a lvl1 minion is pretty small, but a lvl13 one if as big as a person.

That would also be cool for the people who bother getting a lvl26 golem who would be really huge compared to a lvl19 one...

I also think that all different minions should also look different.

Minions that look the same but are different:

Bone minions
Bone horros
Vampiric horrors

Sounds cool, but what about mobs with res skills? I guess it could be used as a way to stop them ressing though...

EDIT: Dj Tano, minions already do scale with level...

How about adding minions with random elemental damage and what the minion looks like depends on what type of elemental damage it deals. Either with color or an aura of some kind.

May sound a bit like diablo 2 but i would like to have minions with elemental damage, would add more variety to the MM build.

I still say they should change Bone Minions to look like the scarab-looking thing on the skill icon ([skill]Animate Bone Minions[/skill])

The redesign of minions (especially Bone Minions) has been long over due, surely turning them into a scarab would be easy enough.
Using the scarab 3D model and a bone skin, I mean look at tigers, white tigers, lionesses, etc. same model, different skin.

1. Those minions that look the same but are different should look different.
Bone minions and bone horrors may come from different skills, but they do the same: direct attack, they just change size, level and name.
Vampiric ones should look more 'bloody' just another skin should do.

2. Sploiting boss corpses.
For wells and teleporst, no change, for creature summoned minions, here's the change:
The will glow with the boss glow. They will have no natural degeneration, that is, lasting untill killed. No change in PvP since Henchmen with that glow won't be considered as bosses.

3. Minion dying:
- Human, beasts, most animals, skales, etc...: Current colors, red flesh and yellowish bones)
- Plant: Green flesh and brown bones
- Bugs, spiders, scarabs, crabs, etc...: Yellowish flesh and dark khaki bones.
- Demon: Purple flesh and Black bones.
- Rock-like (exploitable titans, wurms...): Black flesh and grey bones.
Etc...

No natural Degen would be overpowered, you'd have to put a time limit on them, or state that they cannot be healed or Blood of the MAstered..

To your # 3:
I'd prefer the monster just get back up, you could even do it without skins, just darken the alpha or whatever, like a corpse that's been exploited.

Rez Skills.

You could impliment a new Rez skill to bypass a corpse all together. As always tweak #'s as needed, same energy cost as current rez skills. The game already explains it a bit, with Rez Shrines, you could give it the graphic of the glowy thing at shrines even.

Re Constitue :

Create a new body for a departed party member from the elements around you, with 100% life, 50% energy.

I don't claim to have every skill memorized, summoned things should not use skills such as heals raise minons(heh, fun cycle there....i smell a self propogating minion idea...), and Elites should be out of the question also.

I do agree, every minion skill should yield a completely different minion model/skin, regardless of how they attack.
Another lame shortcut Anet has taken, like a majority of female emotes/animations are the same...

ok on the boss minion.... no /notsigned.... bosses are not gods they are just skills beings of that race so their bones are the same as any others..... but for the minions and vamps needing to look diff yea. why i use minions and bone horrors i have REAL trouble telling the diff, and i think minions should really match their skill art THAT WOULD BE COOL and also give a REASON why you spawn 2 and that they are weaker, cause they're bugs.

It would be better if they just designed a different animation for Vampiric Horror, and either change Bone Minions animation, or bone Horror animation.

I would like to see the scarab skin on the Bone Minions, and maybe vampire fangs on the Vampiric Horror just to give a slight appearance difference, as superficial as that might be.
