You mean it take a couple of mins to load up a new area, that you've never been before? If it is then, that's normal. The game need to load all the area data for the 1st time, after that it won't be so bad.

If you already been to everywhere and it still loading slowly, try upgrade your pc's ram, 1 gb should do fine. Also if you download the client from GW.com expect the game to download a lot of data before you can play or go anywhere new.

Ummm.... Welcome to GW guru. And welcome to GW.

Relax! Once you've got all the updated content, you won't have the delay in loading anymore.

If you have a fast connection, you could try running gw.exe with the -image switch (gw.exe -image). This will download all of the files that would otherwise be downloaded when you enter new areas for the first time, and thus reduce loading time for each new area when you get there.

However, be warned that downloading the image files could take several hours depending on the speed of your connection.

Also, thank your lucky stars you can port from town to town (and continent to continent!!) without mindless “running” or catching the boat or whatever, like you would have to on one big map.
