Alliance areas needed for 100% cantha?

I don't believe it to be the case but just wanted to confirm:
Is access to the extra parts of the outposts reserved for alliance members required for 100% canthan map title (especially in regards to Tyrians).
I mean the parts of the outpost where the fireworks npc and discount merchant etc are. Do these areas provide any % or is this provided by the outlying explorable areas?
I'm just asking as someone in an outpost was querying if this was the case and a couple of people stated that it was (though they didn't have the map title so who knows how reliable they actually were ). As I intend to try and get 100% Canthan on my main it would be handy to know.
Help appreciated

No, they're not needed. You do, however, need some very hard-to-get AB areas and probably the Shing Jea Monastery overlook which is only open during certain events.

Also, may I point to you the wonderful Canthan Explorer's League which has more posts about exploration of Cantha in general: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/f...play.php?f=229

You do NOT need to access any of the alliance / guild owned areas. You also do NOT need to be able to access the Canthan character only areas of Shing Jea monastery. ( although weekend events like the one just gone will give you a boost )

I gained 100% Cantha on my Tyrian character without either of these.

You will however need to be able to map the pvp areas at Jade Quarry and fort aspenwood and parties can sometimes be a problem.

Good luck
