viper11025
I really need some help.Right now I am stuck at the dock area after the island. I have done the quest and went to the town. Currently I am:
Lvl 18
A/R
All My armor is at 44 without buffs.
I really want to get the 70 armor but I cant get the items for collectors because I cant farm for them.If I use hechies they are dumb as rocks. If I use people they run away. Any one want to give me some tips for getting the items?
Please

Henchmen are.... ya not too smart. real people are usually better, but most of the time they will only join you for certaint quests and/or missions. collectors armour is "free" but you need items to trade them for. i suggest that if you have the money and materials which are easier to find, you should make the armour from the town (keineng center). it costs 1.5k which might seem expensive, but if you beg/kill stuff on beginning isle you can get it. plus it usuallt has stats that collectors armour doesnt. also, you can buy the colectors items from other players but this might take a while, but it is cheaper than regular armour and will work until you get enough money for crafter armour. henchmen are very usefull though, and can get you places if you get your team set up well. they will take a little getting used to, but their fine.
Mercyful Fate
Figure out which set of armor you want to buy, so you know if you need 32 steel, 200 hides, etc. Then I would recommend going back to Shing Jea where you can solo alone (or which a guildie monk or hench monk possibly) and kill for drops and sell/salvage until you have the funds and materials to pay for the armor. Naturally the drops won't be as worthy on Shing Jea due to the lower level enemies, but it will be easier for you. Also if you can get the gold together, you can always buy the materials from a merchant as Mesmer in Need stated above.

If you're going to Max Level collector's armor it is worth noting that you have to get to the mainland for this, and also, some of the collectors items can be hard to find.
The collectors items you need are Plague Idols, Purtid Cysts and Jade Bracelets which are all easily obtainable. You also need 10 Venerable Mantid Pincers. These seem insanely hard to get. They only seem to be dropped by very few mantids on the canthan mainland..I did create a build capable of "farming" these to an extent.
Really, you're better off splashing out (if you can afford it) and spending 7.5k on the armor from the crafters in Kaineng Centre. That way you can get the bonuses on it also (which can't be applied to collector's armor).

QFT, don't know the exact percentage but I would take henches over pugs anytime of the day.
Back to topic, if you are at the docks mission, then there is a max armor crafter there.
its 1k per piece and the materials are not that expensive.
If you have done the quests in the island then you should have enough money to craft an armor.
Here is the list of quests, go thru them and see which ones you have not done.

Also make sure that you have your heroes with you when you accept quest rewards. They get the xp as well.

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Quests_%28Nightfall%29 This is referring to nightfall, and seeing how this is in the canthan explorer's league, i'm guessing that he is in factions.
And i agree that getting armor from Kaineng is probably your best solution. Just by doing the Shing Jea quests and saving money from them you should have the money you need for that armor. Also, if you need some craftings you don't have and dont wat to find things to salvage for them, buy them from other players for cheaper than what the trader would ask of you.

(I know that's not very useful, but it's worth mentioning.)

OP: Get better armor. It's the best thing you can do. With 44 armor you'll get eaten alive by...everything.

Agreed.
You can farm Naga pelts on the island and then sell them in the mainland. They are needed (2 of them) for a quest on the mainland. You can trade for materials or money, so you can get the 70 armor.
My assassin henched her way to Kaneing Center. Its possible.
Good luck!
