And my understanding of Gaile's thread was that she was asking for ideas for the new minipets, not for other present ideas.

I do not WANT to get a present for my characters' second birthdays, but I'd appreciate any kind of gift, be it a red iris flower. I'd be happy with it. A pet? Even better than a red iris flower. Hall of Fame island that show who is on their second birthday and you get a celebration and a small gift going there. Your character's image would be place on the "Wall of Fame" where it show your character's age.

If ANet is kind enough to give my soon-to-be two year olds a present for reaching two, I'll be quite pleased. If it's a new minipet from a new series, I'll be even more pleased. I like 'em. I just wish I had a storage means, like a new tab, that would make it easy to keep them in one place.

Another minipet would be a major cop-out for ArenaNet.
What I have admired about Factions and Nightfall is the overall creativity. ArenaNet is beginning to lose that creativity...
Almost anything else would be better. I'd prefer an animated emote...it's proof that your character is 2 years old.

I voted No. How about instead of mini pets there is birthday costumes? Basically it works like the candy corn or elf tonics (but this will have unlimited uses), your character will change it's appearance. The costume can be any character's skin (friend or foe) in the game. I think it would be cool to see all kinds of random characters walking around outposts.

This vote isn't that obvious for me, because that ANYTHING but not minipet can be pretty crappy. A cool rare new-series minipet can be much better than most of other possibilities...

Personally, I'd like to see them implement extra storage for the oldest characters. It would make sense, as older characters would have more stuff worth keeping.

In the same way that each chapter has that sameness about it, more minipets would be kinda appropriate for the second birthday present. Sometimes I just wonder if they shouldn't have just stopped at Prophecies so GW could retain that golden glow of what could have been, rather than what is.

What pisses me off isn't that they're giving us a second line of minipets, even though most people don't WANT another line of minipets.

After all the endless polls etc on the subject, the thing I really find hard to grasp is why on earth the mini many people did want (Gwen), has been setup to be so rare? According to the figures for the last series, Green minis are around 1.4% of the pets given out. That's astonishing. It means the only suggestion they took on board has been put out of reach of the vast majority of players. I could wait for all ten of my characters to have a 2nd Birthday and have zip chance of ever getting one. Why doesn't everyone with a two year old character, especially people who where there right at the start, get a Mini-Gwen?
Was an end to "rarity" and a choice of pet really too much to ask?
I do hate to whine about freebies, but I'm so sick of this game being such a lottery. It's not just gifts - most of my chars have finished their campaigns with pretty mediocre kit. My Ranger didn't get a zealous bow-string until my Sin found one. My Sin still doesn't have zealous daggers, but did get sundering and vampiric *after* he finished Factions and became largely redundant. I've held back my Derv for a few months, trying to find her a zealous scythe mod, but everything being so damn random, I guess I'll just have to finish NF and get her an endgame one instead. And, yes I know I could trade - I saw someone spamming WTB zealous scythe mod in Kodash for at least 20 minutes (before I left), but jeez, that's not gameplay and it won't help with the Gwen mini - I'd never afford that.

Alright, here's an idea for 2nd birthday: A collective present, namely a MINIPET-ZOO where everyone can drop his old inventory slot consuming minipet and go there to visit it every now and than to see how happy the pet is amonst the other pets!
