I saw this build on wiki and saw that wastrels worry was this build . I tried it out and started wondering..."how does wastrels worry outdamage anything on endgame bosses".I decided to just use this skill on various endgame bosses. Every boss i used this on immediately used a skill everytime i used it and by the time i looked at my energy it was *low* and i had done no dmg . Is there something i'm doing wrong when i use this skill by waiting until they use a skill to recast it or are you supposed to spam it. How could anyone use this build and say wastrels worry will outdamage more than your other skills against bosses. Thx for reading and your time. I would appreciate any help .

Hi! You can get better, fresher builds in other places.
Wiki seems to get rid of builds that work and keep outdated builds up.
It's really weird when that started happening and it gets commented on several times in build discussion pages.

As for wastrel's, it's very specific on who it will be best on. Some bosses do use skills often enough to bite into many of the 1.5 second hits.

Wastrel's Worry is extremely damaging against bosses in Prophecies, at least. The bosses in this campaign have a certain degree of hex resistance, and hexes you cast on them last for half their normal duration.

This means that the damaging effect of Wastrel's Worry kicks in after 1.5 seconds instead of after 3 seconds, and most bosses have difficulty cancelling the hex with a skill before the time is up. You just spam it on them, and by the time the 1.5 seconds is over and the damage is done, Wastrel's Worry has already recharged (and if by chance they've managed to cancel the effect with a skill, they won't be so lucky the next time you cast it on them).

As I said, this works very well on bosses in Prophecies. It does not seem to work quite so well against bosses in Factions (I don't think they have the same degree of hex resistance; somebody correct me if I'm wrong about that) and I have not tried it on any bosses in Nightfall yet.

It might be better to say what type of boss you are going after and we can suggest what skills to use against that boss.
That build relies on Wastrel's Worry in between spiritual pain and e-surge recharging. If Wastrel's is not working out for you, it'd be better to focus on bringing skills that tackle the bosses particular profession.

Its mainly nf bosses and I'm looking at just basically mission bosses. To name a few, Varesh, Nemo, Terrowebs etc..I'm also just using this build for general pve(quests other missions) and i can't seem to get enough dmg out with this build and just using wastrels in between recharges. Besides that build i run a custom ineptitude build and a migraine degen. If someone could, can they tell me a good all around mesmer build for pve?

Do you have Factions?
Assassin's Promise doubles as both e-management and recharge of all your skills, even Arcane Echo and Auspicious Incantation. It is effective for just run of the mill PVE. As for boss fights, you'll need change up your build depending on the boss and area.
I honestly don't know of one build for a mesmer that can be as effective in all PVE.

My mesmer builds pretty much always include Empathy and Backfire, because they're two of the few mesmer skills that have a use pretty much everywhere (you will always find enemies who use weapons and you will always find enemies that cast spells). Signet of Humility works quite well in higher level areas too, as it'll temporarily disable any elites the enemies might want to use against you. I tend to focus on manipulating and harassing targets, and let the rest of the party do the direct damage.

OH yeah. Empathy and Backfire.
I want to shoot whoever created those skills.
They did such a good job with those that they seem to make everything else way too conditional in comparison.
I hate them.
I hate them so much.
Seriously, I often sit and try to make any general PVE build for my mesmer that doesn't rely on Backfire and Empathy and it makes my head hurt. I want change.

ESPECIALLY Glint, i took her down in about 1 minute with WW and Empathy.

Ok i think this will work...maybe, empathy, backfire, e-burn, e-surge, wastrels worry (ironic huh?), e-feast, e-tap,glyph of lesser energy. Hope this meets a requirement lol.

Wastrel's is by far my favorite skill (Mesmer or not) in the entire game. When used right, it can take down almost any enemy.
