recently ive seen a few different types of bags (Charr Bag, Zehtuka Bag to name a few) popping up across the auction sites, whats with them?

from what ive seen so far they all hod 10 items just like any ordinary bag with a rune of holding, except some are going for 700k+??? why on earth would anyone pay so much for a 600g item? is there something special about them?

and also where do you get them? are they random drops kinda like The Icebreaker from mobs?

i agree. i see nothing special about them at all. I dont understand why peeps and giving so much gold for them.

Has anyone tried to use a rune of holding on them to see if that will incress the holding amount?

1) No bag goes for 700k
2) People buy them for the same reason they buy 15k armor, high end weapons, etc.

Except 15k and high-end weapons increase your e-peen toward other players. Bags don't.

Yes, but look at their skins! So cool, everyone will be amazed when they see your avatar sporting these designer bags!

Err, wait, nevermind...well, you can post screenshots of 'em, I guess.

the charr bag is only gotten in pre, so people pay for them.

bags don't take up inventory space since you have an equip slot for them . ..

What I meant was they buy them because they can.

Bashing people is not helpful or allowed, especially because I'm sure guildwiki is 1) Always right, and 2) Never vague or unclear on anything.

You have to equip bags to open them. They must be empty to un-equip them. If this was not so, you could store a ton of bags full of stuff in your inventory. You can't.

Sorry if this is a little off-topic but when was the Zehtuka stuff implemented in the game. Are there more things that I don't know, things that I missed ?

In this case, GuildWiki is perfectly clear. The "inventory" is the screen which you see when you press the "I" button, where you can equip armor, equip bags, and your standard collection of items. Thus, "equipped in the inventory" is perfectly valid.

They were always in-game. But no one cared about them. Originally, people thought they were needed for a broken quest (later fixed), but that turned out to be false.

Having one of these bags will save you the 100 gold for the purchase of the 5-slot bag and the additional 500 gold that it would cost to upgrade it to a 10 slot via the Rune of Holding.

Obviously, paying 700k to save 600 gold is of questionable economic benefit. In addition, for purposes of e-peen bragging rights, it would probably be better to just say you have one.

see i understand that for bags you equip it FROM your inventory...

but why on earth would someone pay 700k for it? thats what led me to think it could be opened in your inventory without equipping it...

Another thing, in Pre-Sear, it's true that storage is limited to the Belt Pouch and, if you are fortunate, on of these green drop bags. I can understand the bags going for some high prices but it's unclear how the extra storage is needed. Especially for any amount like 700k...

I have had a level 8 Monk in Pre-Sear for the last 7 months and all the items I am "hoarding" are stackable.

I don't see the point either.

I can understand 15k armor and such since people can see you wielding them, but you cannot ctrl+click and say "I'm wearing a Charr Bag."

I have Zetukas bag. It's just like a bag with a rune of holding. Whoever was advertising a price like that was trying to scam those who didn't know what it was.

Last few days Charr bags in presearing were being sold for between 3k and 5k

It seems many more people are staying in presearing for long periods.
Maybe for dye, there certainly is a lot of dye traded there or possibly for the Title to be obtained there by getting to 20th level.

I did see a few minipets around so it seems people have 1 year old characters still in pre

Well, the charr bags are from Anet as a gift for all the hard work at getting the title in pre searing. They really do help, since I can now horde numerable stacks of things and still have room to pick up every drop on one of my deathlevel runs. I've never seen a Zehtuka bag though. Probably just a little easter egg type thing, along with all the other Zehtuka things, unless they're gonna add a quest later on for all these items.

Charr bags only drop from the Charr Bosses in the Northlands, past the lever gate, in pre-searing.

I have a character in pre and after killing about 200 Charr bosses I have acquired three. The extra storage space is at a premium there as people are staying there for extended periods of time to get the LDOA title, farm dye, etc.

Other oddities include people accumulating mini-pets in pre, because they have been there a year, and people hoarding things such as Hunters Ale for the drunkard title. Yes, there are drunkards in pre-Searing and I have heard of an Incorrigible Ale Hound but never seen the person.

Pre has evolved from the quick stop training ground on your way to post to an entire sub-culture of Guild Wars,
