Spearmarshal now attainable?

Did I miss somthing because I was under the impression you could not get it.

from wiki: It is currently impossible to attain a rank of Spearmarshal or higher. Characters were able to attain the rank of Spearmarshal prior to the November 30th, 2006 update by repeatedly killing resurrected foes. After the update, resurrected foes no longer give promotion points.

im not sure but i read some where that it has something to do with hard mode

That was not the update where the change was made. I tested this then, and I was able to gain Sunspear points from the resurrected foes. But I don't know either when the change was made. Only that it was some update after the Lightbringer nerf.

Spearmarshal was obtainable for a while after NF was originally released by killing certain mobs over and over, those mobs had a cleric with them that would res their buddies, so so long as you didn't kill the cleric, you had an unending supply of sunspear points (provided you didn't leave the zone). ANet has since fixed the issue and made it so you can only get a single point reward for a killing a mob, kill the same mob a second time and no second reward.

Not possible until ANet fixes the reward system for Spearmarshal.
