Tyria's Next Top Model Cycle 2 Application Form
Roguish Seraph
Yes that was fun, girls I wont bother the forums with yet another pic of us having fun (people might get jealous =P), so here is a blooper.
Lets just say some towering warrior took her spear and she was trying to grab for it. Apparantly she has really large hands too o.o
Good luck with the apps everyone!
Oh yeah <3 Team Jael

aagggh i can't decide who i want to enter for the actual contest and who should be the backup..
monk i have more armor choices...but my sin..agh she looks better with mask though, IMO.
ah well here are some outtakes, maybe y'all could help me decide
Rika (my monk) only had one really >.> I deleted the others before realizing i shoulda kept them lol. "And this how you do the Karate Chop!"
Esthera (my sin) had..several. and then she went and mutilated some 100 armor suit thing xD. But for the sake of the thread, I only chose 3 :O
First she's exhausted from all of those screenshots, then she's wondering why she is there to begin with, and then she realizes people are watching and is like "noooo don't look at meee!"
And here she is in her element...killing things.
I think she had just finished Moebius Strike and is gearing up for Death Blossom o-o And she has her mask on..which is usually what she wears anyway
fight on my darling sin, fight on!

Some people have already been breaking the rules of spamming and chatting. If one of your posts have been deleted you should now know.
Remember unlike the older thread, spamming and rule break is not acceptable.
Now back on the topic, liking the pictures so far.

I followed the whole Cycle 1, so I've been eagerly waiting for a chance to join the fun \o/.

i've been in Balthazaars Temple International Districts for like almost everyday spamming emotes and everyone is saying shut up and trash talking me.
I've been there too, but then I moved to Italian because some stupid players started following me around and ruining my shots >_<.
I never keep the emote chat on, so I honestly didn't care if my spamming bothered anyone.

The fun begins ! Application sent, I had a great time doing the shots. Those were in the final reject pile and now I'm having a fun time second-guessing myself ^^
This one was rejected for a severe case of "there's a pnj near my behind, noooooooooo!"
This one was fine actually, love the angle and the light... But the ship behind her attracts the eye a little to much, I think.
I finally choose that armor to go with the pose. Very body hugging, it gives a sinuous look. Went for dying it green+blue rather than my trademark violet+blue to lighten the picture and her skin color, since the light comes from behind her. This picture was on the reject pile, but not by much.

Hello all! I'm new to the forums. I was drawn here because of the last cycle of this very competition(came around when the final 2 were already competing!) and now I've decided to register and enter my spunky cheerful monk Noel to join in.
I'll have to type in my application later when I have more time. For now here are some pictures from the Temple of Balfie session.
"Aah! I dropped my contacts!"
I used the Italian district too, somehow it was less crowded than the International and none bothered me there. Not that I would have noticed... <.<
Lastly...
Good luck everyone and take some great pictures for our viewing pleasure!

Here is one I took - it is obvious why I decided against it
the skillbar detracts from the picture because I forgot to hide it
And I was never able to get that same pose again - the dangly parts in the hair
like to stretch through the face and and ruin it.
And in the end after many screenies I decided to use my second character (my ranger) over my favorite
Sadly, this picture isnt usable for this as it has my cape on because
I took it in either randoms or HA.

Here's Perynne, signing in (finally). Getting third place in the last cycle was enough for me, so I will just be sitting back and following this cycle as a stalker. Mwahah! Any europeans getting into the competition, beware of me and my print-screen button.
Oooh, all the applications look great! Very nice screenshots here! Just as a comment to a few of you, try not to take screenshots where the light source is behind your back. True, it makes the lighting more dramatic, but it can also easily overshadow your model's face and you don't want that. Last round taught us that lighting is VERY important. Also, try to go for simpler or symmetrical backgrounds that aren't too "busy". Your model has to stand out clearly, without being overshadowed by all the pretty architecture in the back.
Good luck to all the applicants, I can't wait to see who gets chosen! More screenies, yes please.

This cycle's popular profession seems to be monks...already, there are twelve monks applying lol, which can be seen on the thread as well...lots of monks lol

Well... I'm sending the application as we speak. Here are my 3 eliminated pictures:
Love the picture, but the face is too dark:
Getting ready for the undies shoot:
The toughest one to eliminate:
I absolutely loved this picture, but already saw people posting here about busy backgrounds. The boat and harbor drew my attention from my own character...
P.S. The little party we had in GToB was great, good luck girls. :P

The third one is great. The first one though looks like your leg was bitten off Still take shots. Then I have to find a good shot fro my necro as a back up.
Mango I didn't even notice it was you. te he. I got bored taking SS's so I felt like "scaring everyone" and we had like a emote fight and then you left. Just relized it was you when reading this page.

Oh my... I applied from my characters point of view. Is this going to penalize me in any way? Last cycle, people got points for taking the time to write the whole application out in first person, so I figured what the heck.

Wow! amazing shots everyone! I'm very hyped for this cycle!!!
I'm going to give some advice though, I've noticed a few people with the Divine Aura, and I want to say it is very important to be careful with it. Make sure that it adds to your shot rather than takes away from it. In reference to myself...
In this shot, the divine aura added to my shot.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...es/tntm004.jpg
While in this shot, the divine aura was very noticeable, and took away from it.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...eyes/tntm8.jpg
Other model featured in this shot is Katina from cycle 1!! =)
The best thing to do is try to fine surroundings and backgrounds that don't clash with the color on the aura. and make sure that the aura isn't more noticeable then you are. Hope that is helpful!

yeah i noticed a lot of applicants with the divine aura and wanted to warn people about it too >.o i think those that have the swirly kind may be better off than the sins who have the glowing star but i don't know >.o might be a little tougher for some.
Noanoa
The Divine Aura does indeed feel like a terrible handicap (and it's why I didn't want to apply with my monk, because her Aura is so over the top). Lack of different armor sets is something that can be remedied by playing (=grinding) more, but there's no getting rid of the Aura.
Then again, I didn't even remember xxSilhouette having an Aura in the last competition, so it must show that shots can be taken without the Aura being too obvious ^^;. I also believe there are pics that just couldn't be done without the Aura.
(I like to think of this and the previous pic I posted as such ^^;).
Must take more pictures... must write application... hurrrrrr ~~ *insomnia monster*

I disagree, I think the stationary auras (assassin, paragon) are less likely to be a challenge. They can be treated like props, whereas there's no escaping the trails.
Not that I have this 'problem' either way.

Not that I have this 'problem' either way. at first i thought that the swirly ones would be more difficult, but then i thought that they could actually add a lot more with the environment..like the rangers could have some sort of faerie/elf nature thing going on with their thing or something
i think the stationary ones look like you're going to shoot lasers at someone o_O
maybe it's just a personal preference XD
either way...they can be bad and good lol

Actually a lot of times i just made it a point to not have it in there, as the assassin divine aura seems to fade in and out, so many times i would retake pictures until it wasn't noticeable.
To quote Nilene, I think that she said something along the lines of it being related to those models who have skin disorders or who are plus size. You know you have it, and you need to work with it and work it to your advantage.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the outtakes too. Here's a few of mine.
You caught me at work...
No flash photography please...
Showing off my best side (almost made it into my application)...
If we took a vote, I wonder what the most popular emotes have been/will be for the application shots. Mine will be: /beckon, /scratch and /doh.

After seeing Noanoa's monk I have to agree that the monk Divine Aura is something to be very scared of. It's capable of complitelly eliminating anything in it's way. I do like Noanoa's ranger's aura though and it can be used to her advantage.
Ofcourse DA's are not the only things to watch out for. Many characters have dangling objects in their hair and ears. My monk included. And because the 3D model's headbone does not seem to reach the dangling objects in full it will leave parts of them unanimated. And this will look like the object is streching madly because the end of the object is left somewhere in the air, far from the characters actual head.(I'm a 3D nerd yeah...)
Just have to really watch out for that... Luckily the plane the dangles are often created on are 1pixel wide so they should not be so visible if viewn strictly from the side.

Lol Nian, that looks really warped out xD My monk has the same hairstyle and I wondered if something funky like that would happen, so far hasn't happened yet though.
the monk /shoo (or was it taunt..dangit.) is actually pretty cool from the side:
^ i so would submit that if she was entering but I'm using another shot for the secondary character thing.
I'm still trying to figure out a good spot for my sin's screens she has black armor and everywhere in balth is DARK. Ugh. And then cropping..and and...gr...I'm just afraid to crop too much or if they want a full shot or maybe I should just toss in both and what about how much background they want and aaagggh x_x *head explodes*
oh and because of this (well and my test pvp i was doing last night) i'm ending buying my sin ANOTHER SET of armor -OOO-;;;;;; my funds for the naga raincaller are depleting >_<

Laenavesse careful with the posts. Some of them are just spammyish (A new word ), I like you taking a big interest in this, but please try not to post QQ O_O;;;;;;;; type spam.
The post above would be better without it.
Its hard to say what is spam or not I guess. Just a reminder to everyone.
We may seem pushy about the new spam rule, but the old Tyria thread was really spammy.
Thanks

Nice pictures!
My favorite emote is /no. It's the only one where Sax's magical shoulder-anchored ponytail shifts to hang behind her back.
For the application itself, I'm going to guess a ton of monk applicants employed /bored. It's very posey.

Well after being just about ready to submit my application, real-life goes and sticks its big fat head in, lol, and in the unlikely event either of my girls got picked for Cycle 2, I wouldn't be able to commit to the 9 weeks or so TNTM would run *sob*. Anyway, as you can see my main and secondary applicants aren't too happy about it either
Really disappointed about missing out on Cycle 2 cause Cycle 1 was great, but I'll be watching it eagerly. The very best of luck to all the applicants and I can't wait to see the selections for this cycle
