Question regarding Price Check (not a PC request)

I hope this is the appropriate place to post this, I apologize sincerely if it’s not… I am not a veteran seller, I always come to guru to find out what things are worth.

Page 1 of the Elonian rare weapons page describes a Shield of the Lion req 9 Strength as being worth 20-40k. I was trying to sell a max gold one for 30k (fully expecting lower offers). I get whisper-hassled by someone who told me you can craft a perfect one for 5k, so no way is my shield worth 30k.

I realize the price check disregards mods, so in fact, is the 20-40k estimate only because it’s gold and modifiable?

Of course you can craft a perfect BLUE (not gold) shield with the same stats, but then why would people pay 100k+XX Ecto's for rare-skinned shields?
The prices are average ones, and I believe they're correct.

Not sure what your question is, but for now the Nightfall Rare Weapons Price Guide is fairly accurate. Regarding a Shield of the Lion, that’s a semi-special case because the exact same skin can be crafted for 5k as your, I’m sure very polite new “friend” was so kind to point out to you. That makes them hard to sell and most people won’t buy them even when they are gold. So 40k is really pushing it in my opinion, 20k is probably about the most you can get for an unmodded one.

Yes, that is why. That's how it always has been. Collectors items cannot be dyed, changed, once you add mods they cannot be salvaged. And some people don't like seeing blue, but like the skin. So basicly it's cuz it's gold and can be changed.
