Necromancers aren't suited for front-line fighting. Therefore, why not have them in the back, though still contributing to damage? Thus, I present the Damage-Oriented Necromancer/Paragon:

Spear Mastery: 12
Curses: 10
Soul Reaping: 9
Blood: 8

Cruel Spear
Blazing Spear
Wild Throw/Whatever you want
Sig of Lost Souls
Mark of Fury
Barbs
Weaken Armor
Res

The prep time is about six seconds, and spear attacks are none too quick, but it's not too bad for single-target damage. Plus, if you call targets, then everyone can benefit from your hexes.

a dead horse is about the only thing you could pick on with this build. even then I wouldn't put it past a dead horse to survive your onslaught.

Your attribute's are too spread out and your only heal is too conditional and small. Might aswell be paragon primary for some decent armour.

Why don't you use a Hammer for Hammer Bash and Crushing Blow instead?

ATTENTION: For those people that didn't get it, THAT WAS SARCASM.

The first responder was right: I tried it with a Paragon primary and the damage was much higher. I dropped blood altogether and put spear master up to 14. I had leadership at 9, but since I was only using one shout (the elite one that gives adrenaline after an attack skill), I thought it'd be alright. The big hurdle is how to generate adrenaline without that elite chant so I can use Cruel Spear. As it was, it was

Mighty Throw
Blazing Spear
Merciless Spear

I had 50 energy from inscriptions so that wasn't an issue. Definitely saw an increase of more than 30 damage points on the target dummies.

Plus, if you call targets, then everyone can benefit from your hexes. you're making it sound like necros cant deal damage from range by using their actual necro skills. a normal spear paragon, or a normal hex nec can easily outdamage you i reckon.

anyways; you miss IAS, (paragons would have agressive refrain, normal necros wouldnt need), your selfheal is conditional and weak and yeah..
