Donating Kurzick/Luxon Faction

Hey everyone, I recently saw in Wiki that if you donate faction to one group, for example Kurzick, you would lose faction for the other group. So is it true that if you donate 5000 Faction to Kurzick, 5000 Luxon faction just disappears? And is it the case for Amber and Jadeite as well?
