I was trying to farm Chidehkir's Deliverance since I decided to use it for all my monk heros, first I tried the standard A/E sliver but I could never get it to target him since the warriors always got so close (I probably did it wrong, but I gave up on it with the A/E) than I tried a r/me famine farmer but he had to much time regening his energy while casting so it didn't work either, so I threw this together. It works on Chidehkir (Marga Coast), and the principle should work for other bosses with a little tweaking which I hope to have you contribute. Or this may just be a flawed principle that works in only this one situation.
Why did I waste your time with the paragraph above? 1) to avoid some of the "just use ____ build" posts, 2) to identify this as useful for anyone encountering the same problem I had with this or any other boss. So without anymore exposition The R/x Dazed Pet Farmer.
Ranger/X
Beast Mastery-5 (4+1)
Expertise-14 (12+2)
Wilderness Survival-8 (7+1)
Marksmanship-(12) (10+2)
Note: The only real attb level req is really marksmanship at 12, the above is just what I use.
Broadhead Arrow
Apply Poison
Distracting Shot
Whirling Defense
Lightning Reflexes
Troll Unguent
Call of Haste
Charm Animal
A Shortbow is required for it's high rate of fire. The mods do not matter.
You will also need a pet.
Leave from Sunspear Sanctuary for best results. Use the basic clear mob with hench/flag away plan. For chidekhir be sure you either kill the kournan patrol or pull away from it. It's important you attack chidehkir first so that he attacks you and not your pet, if you have problems with your pet taking damage replace a stance with a pet heal like Symbiotic bond or comfort animal. Use Apply poison and Call of Haste, hit chidehkir with Broadhead arrow to daze him. Now between you and your pet you will interrupt him just about every time, especially if you keep Call of Haste active. Keep poison up and he will die fairly quickly. Use distracting shot if he decides to use his signet (which in my experience is fairly rare with this approach). When you start taking damage use your stances and troll unguent to heal. Standing near chidehkir will increase your interrupts and if you are using whirling defense will add some damage.
I haven't put much into this beyond the basics since I am only using it for chidehkir right now, if I run into another boss I can't famine or a/e i'll use this again and make alterations if needed. Here are a few of the other iterations I came up with.
Replace Whirling Defense and Lightning Reflexes With Blinding Surge+Glyph of lesser energy. This gave the option to just keep chidehkir blind all the time but I didn't have enough energy to sustain it, this would work for a E/R though and could open up some other skill slots.
Replace Whirling Defense and Apply Posion with Poisonous Bite and Read the Wind or Kindle Arrows. This would add damage at the cost of defense and with RtW you increase the speed of your arrows on interrupts. Could also replace Distracting Shot instead of Whirling Defense to save the defense, but I prefer the extra interrupt just in case and the added speed doesn't do much when you are point blank.
If you don't know; The item i'm going for is a req9 Healing Wand.
+5 energy>50%, 10% Skill recharge on all spells. It's transparent and cool looking and perfect match with wolfs favor for a ZB/Gift of Health monk hero. Chidehkir is found just north of the Kournan fort in Marga Coast.
I'm sure this is rudimentary and could be improved on and I hope you all have some ideas to make this more than a (possible) one trick pony.

Could drop the WS skills (Apply, Kindle, Trolls) entirely and use Posionous Bite and Predatory Bond or Restfull Breeze for selfheal.

agreed. I realized that that kind of set-up would add damage w/o hurting anything after I ran it a few more times with the thought in my head. I just didn't want to post it w/o trying it and I'm not excited about unlocking the skills just for this one boss' greens, at least until I get some more $$ out of doing it, since I imagine i'll be running him a lot to supply all my heros

You might want to try out this build for for farming with your ranger:

With the introduction of the flagging system you can farm just about anything with it. I used this during the last triple green weekend to outfit my heroes.

i'm fairly sure those won't knockout the healing power. I tried to do a pet/burning arrow variant of what I have above to try and out damage his heals, even when I flagged Melonni to help, it wasn't enough. Theres skills in out there that will make that principle work but it'd be the same kind of effect as this one I think.

I've farmed it, listed on last page of the thread. I can't remember the exact build, but try taking scourge healing or backfire.
