I am slowly learning PvP, so I ask this to anyone who has encountered this before.
Our team of 4 sliced through 3 of the other team really quick. At this point, they hung around, one of their monks said she was turning on a macro, and then just stood still. Because of RA, we don't have anyone who can remove enchantments or kd or anything... we just deal damage apparently. We can't hurt her, and she's just standing there, obviously afk. We all took screenies of her saying she was turning on the macro. Is this a reportable offense? I ask only because we are in minute 35 of this stupid battle. Also, is this commonplace?
How to handle cheating?

They weren't using a macro, just saying that so you would leave, knowing that hanging around was futile. Usually when two teams in RA are too noob to kill one another, it turns into some retarded psychological game where you try and get the other team to leave. Some players will say "I've got a television in my room I can stay here all night lol", others will claim they're using a macro.
Really, you shouldn't have hung around an RA game for 30 minutes in the first place.

When you're close to that glad point, your focus shifts. And our team basically was in mower mode. Plus our team was typing to each other the whole time. He just had that one setup that when everything was pressed just right, we could not hurt him. Furthermore, he was no help to his team. If I had my PvE setup, he'd have been dead because it's set up for a little bit of everything. Trust me, it won't happen again.
I'll just let this end here. Thanks for the replies. I'm not worried about this or RA anymore truthfully.

I have ran into to this kind of thing lately. I bet it was a dervish and probably a D/E. We saw one that was using Obsidian flesh and he couldn't really take any large amounts of damage with the group i was in. I was playing monk, so i couldn't do anything anyway. We all left after a few minutes of everyone taunting.

~and on another note u said "Our team of 4 sliced through 3 of the other team really quick" and "When you're close to that glad point, your focus shifts." 5 consecs = not close to glad point in RA ...u never know which team could pop up with 2 monks
~besides....who actually takes serious builds into RA ...i mean ffs its Retard arenas u can win with anything...i got a glad point running a Healers Boon W/mo....

If they would have been using macros they would violate the EULA as far as i know, also a macro is third party software. Proving they actually use it is quite "difficult" if not impossible.

I believe that if someone types in chat window that he/she is using a macro and you report it to ANet, it would be up to that player to prove he/she was NOT using one.
Reporting things like this is not useless. ANet investigates (checks logs, watches for more reports, etc.) and will punish the violator as they see fit. Their normal bans are short and increase in length as violations continue. Get enough valid complaints and you are gone permanently.
What players fail to take into account is this takes time. Unless you screw up right in front of a ANet employee, the whole process can take days to weeks. With 3 million plus games sold, and the amount of stupid behavior we all see daily, ANet must get thousands of violation reports daily.

At any rate, I believe what Darcy stated is right-on. ANet is bombarded daily with reports and it does take considerable time to investigate. The responsibility to prove innocence rests with the suspected player, considering the statements portrayed in-game.
