That build would be better as a ritualist primary.

Signet of illusion seems like it should find the most use using skills from another classes primary attribute. Unfortunately most good primary spells are elite. It's also useful on spells that you don't spam, like wards and long lasting enchants.

Using sig of illusion with arcane mimcry on another character with elemental attunement is pretty damn good. It's actually a good fast cast nuker, and mimicry's recharge doesn't really matter with attunment, and you can use sig of illusion on a particular spell outside your specialized element (i.e. you can go fast cast lightning and bring a ward too without investing in earth).

Really though, maybe besides some amusing gimmicks, there's no good use for signet of illusions, yet. This isn't because it's a bad skill so much, but that it's in a useless skill line. If it was called signet of domination, it would be used alot, especially since dom mesmers have a free elite. But illusion is pretty terrible, and even worse without an elite.

I had a short go at playing with this skill, I used

[skill]Signet of Illusions[/skill][skill]Arcane Thievery[/skill][skill]Arcane Larceny[/skill][skill]Revealed Hex[/skill][skill]Revealed Enchantment[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill]..amongst others.

Not especially inspired I guess, but it was fun to use against Behemoth Gravebanes...if you steal Animate Bone Minions you can raise an army of the dead at 16 death (providing you have 16 illusion, obviously). The "build" was fun to try out Signet of Illusions but nothing more.

I'm thinking Mantra of Inscriptions could work well here to give it a faster recharge...

As for the signet of domination i would love to have one but don't think Anet will put something like that in as it would have serious balance issue

What you can do with skills such as Arcane Thievery/Larceny, is, before going into battle, cast Signet of Illusions and allow it to recharge. This means your first skill-stealing spell will use your illusion line instead...so it will last longer (if that is what you want).

If you cast Signet of Illusions, since GoLE is not a spell which can be affected by SoI, SoI is stull usable to affect the next spell, along with Glyph of Lesser Energy.

It's playable in a hex-build in PVP, less so in PVE though. Aegis is a bit of utility, swap it for whatever you feel like - 16 illusion, 12 FC. The main problem I have with it is you can't really use Sig of Illusions with Power Drain which is the best thing Inspiration has in terms of energy - on the otherhand, you can work get 1.5 pips out of drain delusions (probably more like 1) and another pip out of drain enchantment. It was better before the Inspir nerfs but it's playable if you want the scourges.

I'm still looking for a descent build using that elite. For now I only use it for fun with elem spells when I'm helping a guildie in the first missions of Prophecies.

Signet of domination would have been insane...

Well was refering to prolong fighting and some of the stuff i tried, even with GoLE i m sure alot of us have the void kind feeling since mesmer use energy like a energy vampire very often have problem of complete energy drain with fast cast in play.

Restriction refering to blinding spirt unaffected by Illusion Signet as well and MM limit or in other word it only works on spell

Well wish list of Chapter 4 is Signet of domination XD so might have some good build will be less dependent on the Elite Signet in short less tiring when using Signet of Domination like the annoying feeling i m getting with Signet of illusion.

Example : Cast Sig of Illusion Cast X spell then repeat etc or very prone to certain interrupt freeze etc etc which make the elite quite weak in playing pretext
