Old news or not, people are still allowed to figure out where the name Abaddon came from.
But, it did likely come from Abaddon the demon considering the information provided in the link you provided to us.

Puh-leez, Abaddon was around way before GW made it popular.

Revelation 9:11 quotes: <<They have over them a king, the angel of the abyss. In Hebrew his name is Abaddon [meaning "destruction"], but in Greek he has the name Apollyon [meaning "destroyer"]>>
Abaddon here is referred as to Jesus Christ, not a demon.
the information on wikipedia is wrong, because the term "king of the abyss" has been taken literally. the king of the abyss is jesus, since Revelation 20:1-3 later explains that the "holder of the key of the pit of the abyss" hurls Satan into the abyss.

T N Player
in the second link, he is also called the destroyer. so the great destroyer could be the abaddon?
Lord-UWR
and the great dwarf could be baltazaar? come one people, abaddon has always been known to be a demon, and would have stayed one even if GW didn't feature it. Still, Abaddon is the coolest name ever.
