Well, some months ago, eBay said that they will do everything against the gold sellers on their site.
Here is the result:
MOD EDIT: link and search terms removed, see below

Give it up, it's a lost war. I do not buy this stuff as it will ruin the soul of the game, but I think it is impossible to stop all of this. And ANet unfortunately doing it wrong nerfing everything in-game. It will not stop bots/scripts, but successfully ruin the game for rest of us.
MOD EDIT: While I find posting info on how to find these gold sellers while complaining about them at the same time amusing, it is not allowed to post information that links to or helps people find such sites.

Bah anyway in Ascalon inter I see, very often, someone who spam the adress of his web site to buy GP. You can report, the week after the guy is still here with the same message.
Anet should add a /report key on the game. A command that, when is used send the last 10 or 20 text lines of the district to Anet. But thats mean have someone who take care of these report ... and its alot of money for a game who doesnt have a cost everymonth.

A-net don't care about reports... I've reported 20+ gold selling page advertising players, and nothing.

I've reported people for advertising to buy/sell gold and accounts (runescape and gw) and those same people were on every time I checked my friends list.
I agree with Loeil. And I get that they may not have the money or resources to hire people to monitor the incoming reports, but couldn't they take volunteers? Maybe have them screened or something first, of course.

The best Anet can do is bann accounts to try and slow the tide/make the business less profitable.

I think maybe you misunderstood it (or perhaps I did). But I believe it was to stop Ebay from selling "items" (Such as weapons, mods, etc...) for real cash. I have been to Ebay before and after the supposed "Nerf" and before I saw stuff like Sundering Zodiac Sword of Fortitude Req 8 just $5. Then afterwards I did not see anything but the "Gold" sellers. So my interpretation is the said to stop selling the Items not the actual game gold to buy them with. Because that could make the market flunctuate if they aren't using the in game gold to buy them.

There's also the fact that ebay makes money off of every listing.
I don't blame them for taking a half-assed stance on gold selling. If someone can sell a McNugget that looks like the virgin mary, are they really going to care if someone is selling "imaginary" property?
This topic has been beat to death so many times that I'm not going to launch into an explanation on why gold selling will never be eliminated... I can sum it up in this simple statement:
as long as their is a demand, there will be those willing to supply.
It's a simple law of market economics.

To be 100% honest unless ANET cracks down on ALL gold sites, it's probably in people's best intrests for ebay to keep selling, as at least on ebay people have seller ratings as opposed to some shady gold site that trojans your computer.
