Unable to run CD 1, but can load 2 (factions)

ok, i bought guild wars factions (have not purchased the origional or nightfall),
and the first time i bought it, i could not run cd 1, and exploring it showed me a blank cd. then i popped in disc 2, loadscreen told me to put in cd 1.

so i returned it thinkin it was a bad glitch on the cd, and now with the new one, i cant load either discs.

heres the specs, maybe someone can help



DELL INSPIRON 1000 (dont laugh its the gf's comp)
2.2 ghz celeron
32 mb vid card
256 ram

dvd/cd rom - QSI CDRW/DVD SBW242C (have not been able to find a driver update for this or any other information.

if you can't get the CDs to run, you can always just download the client from guildwars.com

i havent even got to install it. will that still work?

yep, you'll just have to download everything from the net, instead of getting some of the items off the cd. The only thing you box has that you absolutely need from it, is the key, and once thats used, you don't really neeed it anymore either (except if you need to prove you own your copy of GW to support)

Yeah, just download the client and enter your key. You're only paying for the key anyway. Although I don't know how well Factions will run on your PC.

You might need to upgrade your videocard if you want to play with proper FPS.

No dice. The Inspiron 1000 is one of Dell's "Budget Line Laptops". It comes with intigrated SiS 650 graphics. This does not support DirectX 9, T&L, and is roughly equivelent to a GForce 2 era card.

And from doing a quick Google, I have found a lot of people who are unable to play GW with that graphics card (or much of anything else other then Solitaire).

In other words, "Dude, you got Delled".
