Do these actually have any use since the event is well and truly over, or would I be better off merching/salvageing the 1000+ I just found on an old char? :/

I would keep them, though I did salvage a bunch I had since I actually needed the glittering dust------still keep some for next year.
Now the jade wind orbs are another story-----------------------------
