Changing Password

Honestly, why do we need to go to a separate website to change our password? Especially since there is no way I can remember the PlayNC account info I made about 18 months ago. Is there no possible way to change the account password in-game? I'm sure it couldn't be that hard and would save alot of grief. The PlayNC website is horribly unorganized and difficult to use. I know if I ever got my password stolen/account hacked... I know now that I would be unable to change it.

Having the password changeable from the game client would make it too easy for anyone that hacked your account to change your password and keep your account. I changed my password through plaync a couple times and have never had any problem. I just added my GW account to my CoV account. Login, click the modify account info or whatever next to GW, it'll ask your birthday then input your new password.

The extra step makes no difference at all when someone downloaded a keylogger. Plus most "hacks" are just social engineering. Many people are extremely gullible. Or think that reversing thier birthdate and using that as a password is clever.

my point though is why should I have to register on a 3rd party site to change the password to my game account? I'm not even sure at this point that I have a PlayNC account, 'cause I never remember creating one.

If you have to login to PlayNC to change your game password, you have an account there.

Yes, the whole process is totally retarded, but it's what we're stuck with.

Yeh, i dont know my plaync account stuff either, and 'need' to change my password, as 3 people know it :S

when i contacted support, they said i have 2 give them my cd keys..dnt have a clue where they are either, so im stuffed

And after you give them CD-Keys they will want, pictures or you have to mail to some weird address in Texas, pictures of your guild wars box, cd key, recepit which you bought from the store, discs, manuals etc, Retarded isn't it?
Don't get me started...

I changed my password from the client a few days ago...And if anyone does do that you can just reset the password and change the email address.

yeah great, log on playNC... But when im doing it my GWP, GWF, GWN keys are invalid... So how can i change password now?
