With the collectors editions you get books with concept artwork and some of them are very beautiful.
Most of the artworks are used ingame but do not reflect the real game in the way it was drawn, but more like the atmosphere of the game.
They give you a feeling that you can sence when you are playing or at least they try to give you that feeling.
imo the floating mosque has a magical 1001 night feel about it and that is reflected in Nightfall specificly in the gardens of seborin, kodash bazaar and the grand court of sebelkeh with the floating stuff in it.
I really hoped to come across the floating mosque in the desolation but alas that weren't true.
Many prophecies and factions concept's weren't used visually, but looking at them now you could sense they were there.

Remember that is concept art, and concept is just ideas. They used structures like that quite alot in Guild Wars, Ie. The Mirror of Lyss (the actual mirror), and those floating domes right outside kodash. Which brings up a question i want to ask. The portals at The Grand Court of Sebelkeh, do they deliberately not work? Id LOVE to explore the mirror post-mission

If you remember right, there were all kinds of floating garden things around Vabbi. This could have been an early concept drawing of Sebelkeh.

Damn, the Anet artists got some friggin nice talent.
I'm so impressed by those pieces they did.
Now I'm getting all excited about the possible locals and scenes to come.

The interview the the Lead Art Director was very nice. It offered some incredible insight into why Guild Wars scenery is so breathtaking.
I hope they interview more of the artists too.
