[Suggestion] Announcement tab

This would be a tab separate from the Status tab. While the Status tab allows for a brief Guild Message that is displayed when a user logs in, this is more expansive. The Announcement tab would feature a way for users to read the extended announcement. This would allow Guilds to put in much more critical information in than what is in the limited amount of space that is already set for the Announcement that exists. Guild Leaders and Officers could use the extended announcement ability to help set up events (Farming, missions, GvG, PvP, etc.) easier, along with many other useful benefits.

The current Guild Announcement is limited to 255 characters. The Announcement tab would be able to hold far more, perhaps as many as 4096 to 10240 characters. This would allow a very flexible amount of text to be provided, such as links and other important information without the need to erase other items.

Nice idea. The current limit of 255 is kinda annoying at times. So this would be very helpful.

I'd love to have that, or maybe a limited message "Post It" board in the Guild Hall for passing offline messages to guildies, etc.

I'd appreciate having the ability to use longer announcements. The ability to list things in the Announcement tab, or to just split things into paragraphs, would be nice to have too.

why not add a guild calendar as well that people can view any day and open details of various events that are scheduled? (organizer, time, details, etc etc)

It would be nice to have, my current guild announcement is a message saying that we pay for faction, a link to a HFFF video, and the info for vent. It would be nice to announce when we are doing other stuff as well as simple guild info.

ive given up on any changes being added to the game other than the usual "time to fix meta again" updates. GW2 perhaps.

Every time something like this comes up it makes me wonder just what the point of this "guild" bit was in the title, there are so few options and so little flexibility....

That's a reason to have threads like this though. If they can't impliment it simply in GW, then they may say "Hey, that's a good idea for GW2".

Obviously, we've lived without it for long enough, but it never hurts to hope or ask.
