Heros and their weapons
emoxcore
Where did you get your Heros weapons from? I was thinking of just getting collector weapons for them but im not shure, so i wanted to ask around first.
Corinthian
Tyrian collectors and random drops... Hero's don't complain.
Amy Awien
Collector weapons are as good as any other, with the proper upgrades. Why would they complain.
Marverick
Greens cause its just easier to get one rather than spamming to buy upgrades and farming/spamming for collector items.
Skuld
Greens and stuff from chest runs mainly, salvage and mix and match the mods, my heroes are using +29hp hammers and so on ;D

Well, I've since decided to play though the rest of the Guildwars games with only one character, my ele. That means that I'll be getting all the heros, giving them green or equivalent weapons, getting the armor pieces, and outfitting them completely with all the runes they need.
It's not cheap, but the whole process cost about the same as a full set of 15k.
The good news is, I'll only need to do it once.
For my other characters that have heros, I just give what's handy.

+15 energy staff for every caster, rhino's charge for all warriors, and the rest can screw off.

Found an easier alternative. Hit the treasure chests in Elona. It works out if you have 3-4 characters who have access to all of them. Most of the weapons will be above req 10 so put them on the relevant heroes and upgrade them with needed mods.
For the ones that are left, collector weapons or greens do fine.

A max or near max weapon - I do not care where I got it from. The skin and its stats are the important part (stats come first).
For me, I divvy them up based on their status. For instance I have two mains (A Dervish and an Elementalist), a few secondaries (Ranger, Necro, and a Warrior), and the rest "other" (I have one of each class). Mains get first choice of everything, secondaries rate collector/crafter if needed, and the rest are drops. I only customize if I know it is exactly what they want and then it becomes permanent. It isn't uncommon for secondaries to have a really desired skin waiting on the correct mods to be found.
The mains tend to get a mix of collectors, crafter, greens, and golds. I treat all of them as if they are actually my character - including purchasing runes and insignias. As they get the skins they really want their old weapons trickle down, they also get first choice in mods.
The secondaries have a pool of weapons and runes they draw from (expert salvage kits for the runes). They only get hand-me-downs or drops - for the most part they get pretty full up on runes with drops. Basic cheap stuff is flat out purchased, if something is under a plat I just buy it and a few multi-plat items I get tired of moving around and just purchase (all my monks are prot and I purchase a sup prot rune for all of them - including the "others".
So far, there are a very few things (runes, weapons, mods, etc) that I have had them full up and parts permanently move down. For this weekend (hero weekend) I blew about 40 plat on runes because I wanted all the "others" to have leveled heroes and was too lazy to switch around that much - but then that is why I keep 100 plat as a hard "zero" except under special circumstances (I need a special reason to drop below a hundred, otherwise I blow plat like there is no tomorrow and stay at around 0-20 plat - I shudder to think of the value of FoW sets I have purchased and sold to the merch).

greens like Scar Eater, Exuro's Will, Woe Spreader ect.

If you get good drops, give them to your heroes. I mean, as long as the weapon is good for the build that you've given your hero, you should be fine.
R C Margas
I use the same builds on my heros that i use on my character and the builds require very specific weapons, so i equip a build that i am not currently using onto my hero and give him the specific weapon, be it green, gold or collector.
Envious

I just use random shit I find here and there. Until I find the proper random shit, I use preorder stuff for all casters/zenmai. I usually change my hero bars depending on their equipment though..... leading to some pretty awesome gimped pve bars. However, this also means that I fail @ HvH with pve chars .

Similar, mostly golds from the treasure chests, don't touch in Nightfall, tends to be max damage with 19% (or something just below perfect)
Miss_Enix
