Changeing Names

Hey,
Well i dont know if its just me, but i made the mistike or giving my Characters absoultly crap names... So i was thinking if it would be kool to have a name changer like 3 name changes per Character? Or maybe just for a weekend? I duno, any comments?

I don't think that name changes should be possible...I do think people should think more about their character name before they put one in.

The amount of misspelled and otherwise ridiculous names is an indication of that. Sure, they filter what you can put in in English but if you see how many names in other languages that are not filtered are actually quite offensive it's a laugh really.

I cannot call my character Litany of Damnation because it has damn in it...even though there are damned clerics in the game.

My view is, if you don't like the name, you should've thought about that earlier before you started playing the character...after that it just becomes part of the character.

Also, if you have the default chat filter on, you can never tell what Kessex Peak is. Irony ftw.

While I'm in favor of changing a character's hairstyle, I do think that names should be unchangable. It's just a very difining part of your character. The fact that you gave them creative "crap-names" just shows it more.

It also seems like it would be pretty tricky...What about all of the character's weapons and armor?

I agree with no name changes. Character creation should be the most thought out process of the entire game, and yet people continue to just rush through it and give their chars a crap name, and then later they complain about it. I understand your enthusiasm to play the game, but that enthusiasm really shouldn't overrule common sense when naming your character. It should be pretty obvious by now, seeing as I've never heard of any online game ever that offered the chance to change a name, that what you choose at the start is what is going to stay.

I think it should be left this way as a reminder to everyone that the name you choose is the name you're stuck with.

This is a hard one. I don't think names should be changable. Changing hair styles, sure. And while I don't think they should be changed I can see why others do. All my characters are Yoshs ***** for whatever proffession they are. When I started I just randonly named it Yoshs**** for no reason. So even though I'm against it I can see why its been brought up. Maybe your character must be 1+ years old to have the ability to change his name ONCE.
