I've been going around in circles trying to figure out what this Tapestry Shred, Gwen gave me is for. Could someone please tell me what the significance of this Quest Item is and what I have to do with it?

The significance of the tapestry shred is not known...
It will be for a future quest A-Net will put in. The Gwen story is not over yet.
