I'm...not a fan of this build. It doesn't seem cohesive. I assume you're using GwT for the heal, so why take soothing as well? Are you goign to stand back if you get pressured and just spam soothing under GwT?
I don't get the execution of what this build is supposed to be doing.
Wouldn't it be easier just to spec into channeling instead of axe, be able to use a rune, and then not face any of the problems you're having? You'd be able to stay backline and maintain damage and probably be able to transition to "support mode" far easier.
If you were going for a melee ritualist type build, I'd recommend having a weapon spell that lasts a while (ex: Vital Weapon) and the +15 while under a weapon spell armor. It'd take you to the AL of a Derv or a Sin.

You might want to try looking into that spirit strength build (at guildwiki it's listed as Spirit Warrior rt/w and has variations for both sword and axe).
But to come close to tanking, particularly in PvE, you will need emissary's armor (or nf armor with the +15 armor while under a weapon spell insignia). The strength build will give you 75 armor (plus whatever skills bonuses that will add to that, such as a shout, etc). That's 5 less than an actual warrior.
And both the wiki builds and one I'm currently using also have the rit skill Sight Beyond Sight (which keeps you from being blinded)
I'de focus less on healing and more on dmg. Can take out a heal skill and sub in Nightmare weapon for a quick health jump plus it would add the bonus of being a weapon spell. I would also get rid of the Generous skill. If your playing as a melee char, your job really isn't to spam out the healing. A few self heals to at least keep from quick deaths and maintain a certain amount of health, but damage is your main priority.
