Wand Wrappings

I was under the impression that wand wrappings, like all weapon upgrades, would attatch to weapons no matter where they came from, as opposed to inscriptions. There is nothing on GuildWiki to suggest otherwise.

As suggested on GuildWiki, I got a perfect wand wrapping of memory and tried applying it to a crafted Pronged Rod to duplicate Gordac's Needle.
The wand wrapping won't attach.

I've tried attaching to an Elonian wand and resalvaging it, hoping that it was just a botch. The wrapping sticks just fine to any Elonian wand/rod/etc... but still won't apply to my Pronged Rod.

Is GuildWiki wrong on this or is my wrapping just broken?

Does your pronged rod have a free inscription slot? If not, it wont attach.

You cannot add mods to wands/shields from prophecies/factions, only nightfall.

Not true. As long as it dropped in NF you can add a wrapping on it.

Then could you please tell me how to inform GuildWiki that some of their information is wrong? That way other people won't throw their money away like I did.

It's not a waste of money if you just find(or buy) a wand in nightfall with the attribute u need and put the wrapping on that one. And Wiki isn't wrong, it just asumes that people know that things introduced in one campaign can not be added on to items of a previous campaign. It's not like it says that you can, it just doesn't say that you can't. It says this in the inscriptions page and it has wand wrappings listed there as well. Why they don't have it on the wand wrapping page is beyond me, cause they should.

I for one never thought that wand wrappings shield handles and inscriptions could be put on prophecies or factions item. I assumed that they couldn't be by the why Anet has acted in the past with new campaigns and the exclusivity of them.(i.e. new skills in each campaign not being able to be used by ppl without the campaign.) Inscriptions and wand wrappings and shield handles are exclusive to Nightfall, can only be found in Nightfall and can only be added to items found in Nightfall. The Exceptions being HoH and ToPK.

You could also resell the wrapping to recoup your money, or part of it. Just an idea

I was refering in particular to the entry by Gordac's Needle, where they suggest you buy a rod in Factions and add the wrapping. This is what I did. I blew 5K on a rod I can't do anything with.
