I just bought a Creative Xtreme Gamer Soundcard to replace my Live! and wondered if GW fully supports this card? I had installed the game when I had the Live! card installed.
I had thought that I could enable the EAX support, but that option doesn't allow me to do so. Is there something else that I am missing?
Thanks!

Also make sure you have the latest version of the Creative drivers. And go to the properties and make sure that EAX is enabled there.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not using Vista. I'm running XP Pro SP2. I installed the latest drivers from Creative and am pretty sure that I've enabled EAX within the control panel.
I just wasn't sure if GW will "know" if EAX is available if it wasn't before.

It will not turn it on automatically, because EAX can effect system performance. A lot of people actually turn it off (along with other sound options) in order to get the highest possible performance. But this is all a matter of personal preference.

I tried going to the sound options, but the EAX box was greyed out and wouldn't let me enable it at all. That's why I was wondering if there was something else that I had to do. It's no big deal, but I was curious.

Make sure that in your sounds options on your control panel that you have the hardware acceleration turned up to max.
I have the X-Fi xtreme gamer card and find that it randomly freezes my pc when playing guild wars when hardware acceleration is switched on in guild wars, be interesting to see how you get on.
