Really bad FPS

I recently got Guild Wars expecting that since my laptop surpassed the system requirements, I was good to go.

Wrong.

So far, the max FPS I have ever gotten is 15. No matter what my settings are, it just wont go up.

So far, I have completely reinstalled windows, defragmented my hard drive, and run ad/spyware checks. Any suggestions?

Geforce Go 6150
1 gig of RAM
120 gig HDD, 94 gig's left
AMD Turion 64 X2 (each at 1.6 GHz)

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

Sounds like your hardware specs are good, so it could be two things - there's a few programs running in the background (not visible on the taskbar but in the task manager) that are killing you, or Windows isn't allocating enough memory to Guild Wars, which is something that I experienced a long time ago.

Try adding a "-heapsize 512000" command to the GW shortcut and run it. That's the easiest solution I can think of. If that fails, take a screenshot of the processes running on your task manager and post it here if you want. I'll take a look at it for you and see if there's something wrong there. You can also try messaging me in-game, as I might be online when you get this post. IGN is Fullmana Alchemist.

I thought the heapsize switch was taken out?

GeForce Go 6150, there's a part of your answer, the 6150 uses shared video memory if i remember correctly, which by definition means lower fps.

pretty much. when i played on a system with a 6100 (which is just slightly slower), it's quite choppy. didn't check the fps, but 15 sounds about right.

When did they do that? I can prove that the heapsize switch has an effect on my desktop machine.
