For some reason I cant see any boss auras ever. It just looks like they are regular (for their creature type), except slightly bigger. I assume its because my graphics card doesnt support the "shader" things, but I was wondering if anybody knew something I could do to support shaders.
My GFX card: NEC Multisync P750 on NVidia GEForce DDR.
Or at least thats what it says for the "display" section of my desktop settings.
Any idea how I can get some coolio auras?

I also suspect video card driver or Direct X problem. My Geforce FX 5700 Ultra runs GW great / no aura glitches.
I would update to the most current official non-beta video card driver and update Microsoft Direct X to it's more current version:

Well, the original GeForce chips don't support the latest shader models, so it's possible that it's a hardware limitation. Definitely try a new driver, though. Sometimes they add alternative rendering methods to the drivers to simulate the newer shaders on older hardware.

it doesnt matter which card you have as long as it supports DIRECT X 8.X/9.0
the aura and other effects are in the direct x pixel/vertex shaders

Question Why can't I see the aura around a Boss? Answer Make sure the 'Enable post-process effects' option is checked. You can get to this option by going to Options->Advanced within the game. Note: If you have a GeForce MX card, they do not have the ability to display this effect. Any GeForce Ti card and above should be able to display the glow. |

look up omega drivers...microsoft drivers = last ditch effort

OK! Thanks everyone! I will try all these things. From what I have read, however, it seems to be a hardware limitation though. :/
