does anybody know a nice pet build? i want to train my pet so it would go quicker but i don't know what i should use on it.

right now i'm using barrage, poisonous bite, lunge, charm and comfort animal, disruption lunge (barely use it really just wanted something to fill the gap), troll ungent and rez signet.

i'm not really worried about the the points since i just want it to get to level 20 and sell my tiger, but are there any good places to train a level 17 tiger fairly quickly. thanks for your help

Just take it with you and keep it alive, it'll level up. But why do you want to level it up to lvl 20 and then sell it? You only get 100 gold for it anyway.

Good places would be places with high-level enemies that give lots of exp there are lots of those all over the three campaigns.

If you ask me lvling it up the last three lvls just for 100g isn't worth your time. You could make 2x that just stepping outside to cap your annoying bird.

Supposedly pet builds are working more effectively now. Pets no longer get stuck behind other players or minions because of collision improvements.

Build Option 1:
16 Beast mastery (12 + 1 + 3)
10 Expertise (9 + 1)
Rest in Bow Mastery

Charm Animal
Comfort Animal
Call of Haste
Call of Protection
Predatory Bond
Enraged Lunge {E}
Feral Lunge
Bestial Pounce

Enraged Lunge does massive damage to any target normally it is around 100 damage.
Now consider that you can use it every 5 seconds.

Build Option 2:
Here is the basic skill set:

Charm Animal
Comfort Animal
Feral Lunge
Scavenger's Strike
Brutal Strike
Predator's Pounce
Ferocious Strike (elite) - this is key as it gives you a literally endless amount of energy to heal your pet with Charm and Predator's Pounce. I have often wondered how this could be used when combined with a casting build...

Anyway, notice one slot is missing. You can do many things with this. Either throw another pet attack on there (maybe one of the interrupts added in NF or something - haven't messed with that yet.) OR you can do one of the following:

Smite Bomb: Put some Atributes into smite prayers. Use Balthazaar's Aura, Holy Wrath (combined w/ Ferocius Strike this might actually be sustainable), Retribution, or even Strength and Honor to inflict more damage on foes.

Epidemic: I experimented with this long ago but never fully developed it. You could take Brutal Strike off the previus build and add Poison Arrow to your build and use the last skill slot to spread both bleeding from your pet and poison from your arrows to groups of foes.

Misc.: I have used different skills here just depending on what suits my character at the time. When greens were new, I was using a stinger as my bow which added poison length so I just put Poison Arrow in this slot or sometimes a stance like Tiger's Fury simply to boost ROF and my Damage (stinger also has + damage in stance), anyway you get the picture. Or as I said you could add a new pet skill to this.

Build Option 3: I've used this one a lot: AyQhbt8lwVo7ez5PDRfT7ND
Profession: Ranger/Monk
Name: Smiting Beastmaster
Category: Damage/Smite/Interrupt
Attributes:
Smite: 10
Beast Mastery: 11 + 3 + 1
Expertise: 6 + 3
Wilderness Survival: 9

Skills Set:
1.) Ferocious Strike {Elite} (Beast)
2.) Disrupting Lunge (Beast)
3.) Call of Haste (Beast)
4.) Balthazar's Aura (Smite)
5.) Comfort Animal (Beast)
6.) Resurrection Signet
7.) Troll Unguent (Wilderness)
8.) Charm Animal (Beast)

Summary:
Simple concept. Use pet to attack enemy. Use Call of Haste to increase movement and attack speed while spamming Ferocious Strike and Disrupting Lunge. Once pet is within melee range of target, cast Balthazar's Aura. Keep your pet and yourself healed through Comfort Animal and Troll Unguent. Rinse and repeat as needed.

Ferocious and Aura are the key components to this build. Ferocious deals a lot of damage (+ gains energy) while Aura applies constant damage. Haste keeps your pet aggressive and random Lunges disrupt lock your opponent. You'll won't be able to manually disrupt your opponent (especially fast skills) since lunge tends to be a little slow so don't worry about reserving it-just spam it like Ferocious. You'll get lucky and score some disrupts. The recharge rate is fairly fast so you can apply a lot pressure.

Use a smiting staff with a +20% enchantment duration upgrade. I also use the mindclouder or Illyana's staff for more energy.

I like to run Apply Poison so it gives me something to do while my pet is doing the damage and it adds massive DPS if you spread it.

It doesn't have to be level 20 to get rid of it, buddy

Just go talk to a tamer, sure you get nothing in return for it, but 100g isn't going to make your budget any larger anyway.

You're better off getting rid of it now and getting your annoying bird

You can sell pets? This is new to me. I always thought the only way to get a rid of a pet was to give it to the exotic animal collectors.

I stop to get the bonus from a rez shrine NPC (the Whispers guys, Sunspear guys, etc.) and my wolf gets stuck unless I back away from the NPC first and then head off in the direction I want to go. On occaision even my heroes' wolf pets will get stuck in the same place.

Unless maybe those NPCs all have bacon in their pockets!? Hmmmmm......

You are right. My pets keep getting stuck at the NPC shrines as well. Very frustrating if you don't know about it. Now I make sure I kinda "back out" after clicking on them to make sure my pet doesn't get stuck there.

the tamers don't buy them, but you do get 100gold whenever you give them a level 20 (I havent tried but could you farm gold by capping black moas? probly not worth the effort I guess).

Heal as one is a great all-purpose elite, because it doubles as a self heal and a pet res, effectively saving you a slot, which is usually sorely lacking on a pet build.

Your secondary should be something that can take advantage of expertise: warrior, paragon, or.. ugh, necromancer.
