Suggestion: Longer weekends, signing minis

I love the idea of weekend goodies, and special events. I missed the Halloween because I only had Factions at the time (a problem which I have since corrected), I was at both New Years (Canthan & Wintersday), and I enjoyed many other events. But with a wife & kid, I also regularly get into problems because I want to enjoy the festivities & events at the expense of having a life...

So I would like it very much if all special events were extended, such that we have the opportunity to get the goodies over a few days worth, at lest the important goodies (i.e. minis & hats).

Also, it would be awesome if ANet employees could sign our minis. Perhaps a simple mechanism, where if an employee types "/signminis", a message is displayed announcing to all chararters in the area that they can type "/signminis" to hange the name of the minis in inventory (but not in the stash) for that employee's name.

/notsure about this mini pet signature thing. it sounds fun but how would it work? would you have the signature on the item name. or would the signature be displayed on the mini?

It would be displayed on both - you have to be able to show it

/signed on making hat retrieval etc like how it was with the Dragon Festival. You could get it at the finale and for a week after. Since they had a collectible drop for that hat though I guess Anet could just lower the number of drops required from 250 to maybe 200 or 150 so the casual player does have a chance to get one as well even though they may have this "life" thing.

Instead on longer weekends... there could be, once a year, a chance to gift other players with old gears.

Players give away the hats, and in the cities would be random drops of gift boxes with one hat inside.

The more people give hats, the more they appear. The only way to get old hats could be this one, and once a year is not bad.

I don't think the minipet signing would have any purpose... the devs are not in all regions... so catching one would deped more on wich region you are...

Why to track them and annoy them with a 'sing me this! sign me this!!!" geez...

The signing would be when the devs show up, for special occasions for example, and decide to sign some pets. Because it is a one-step process, there's no need to annoy anyone.

/signed for alternative way to get collectible hats. Can't buy them, can't trade for them... but I want them! I want my dragon hat!

it would be tolerable if you could just use someone elses hat for the ones you missed. We have a hat maker now.
