More ale! best weekend ever (well, until the next weekend that has ale comes along)
How districts do you guys think will be in RA/TA? I'm thinking anywhere from 12-15.

hrm i will only be interested if they are as strong as the spiked eggnogs...although the 4leaf clover maybe interesting if it actually does something unlike the lunar tokens that said the gave you good luck...but i never seen anything from it..
jcapulet
I'm really interested in what the 4 leafed clovers do...

Back on topic, anyone else think the clovers might increase drop rate?
thelegendozelda
i wonder if the clovers are something you use, or if they are something you use to trade something for ......like they are tokens of some kind........but it does say a party bonus when used.....maybe like Rainbow CC?
lightblade
New game? I don't think so...
This weekend is St. Patricks day.
This weekend is St. Patricks day.

I hope this event gives hints to the next Game/Expansion. We need more hints than that silly old inquier =O. Are the Port towns getting decorated for this? Is there going to be quests! so maaany questions.

It may be St Patrick's Day, but who's to say that ANet shouldn't take the opportunity to vaguely introduce the lands and people of the next chapter?
Sure, the whole thing bears a hearty resemblance to Irish culture, but is it just coincidence that an in-game celebration of St Patrick's Day arrives on the eve of Chapter 4 information being released? 'Far-off realm' and 'man no taller than a dwarf, with hair as orange as an Ascalonian sunset' are enough to convince me that this is not a one-off event. Any distant land, no matter how many miles of sprawling ocean it lies across, is a part of the Guild Wars world and, knowing us adventurous folk, as soon as we hear of a new place to explore and conquer we'll be packing our bags for the voyage.

A mysterious celebration from a far-off realm will influence our fine lands this weekend... Perhaps stranger than the foliage-tinged festival itself was the source of my information. A man no taller than a dwarf, with hair as orange as an Ascalonian sunset and clothing greener than the Maguuma jungle approached me... |

They really had my hopes up for something cool and exciting dropping from monsters, but beer and magical food wasn't what I was hoping for...
Oh well...I guess I can always give away my alcohol to all those drunks hanging around town...

yeah pretty minimalistic, though we didn't know there would be anything until this week.
ales are just another skin for the same thing, and we'll have to see what the clover gives......I'm guessing its like a lunar fortune but it could be an area condition.......or something

Imo, clovers will increase drop rate indeed as it could be useful for the party it's written.
WinterSnowblind
This is pretty cool, it's sort of like a mini-event. I'm surprised they haven't redecorated the towns and given us a leprachaun hat. I really love those events and they always seem to draw in the crowds. Any excuse for more, right?
I'm betting the clovers turn us into leprachuans, similar to the elves at the Christmas event.

Lets eat the clovers for sugar rushes, they're really clover marshmellows...

I don't think this is what they'll do, though, seeing as the article mentioned partywide benefits, etc. Though, if they want to just make it give everyone in the party a sugar rush, that's fine with me, too .
Zinger314
Gaile's replies in the other thread implied that the Four-Leaf Clover would influence the "Lucky" title.
kratimas
Unless Gaile updated her eairler statement in a different thread (which she very well may have and I just missed it.) She said it would not have anything to do with the Lucky Title.

Awwww man, so it is about St. Patrick's Day! See ya'll on Tuesday, when it's safe to come back.

I am starting to think that this whole thing is just a waste of time.

Yes, your grammy can make some cookies for us, and we'll collect the drops til then!
KANE OG
Four Leaf Clovers = Reduce dp or gives party morale boost. I don't think they'll be any more important than that.
Appreciate this ANET. Little mini events like this let us all know you're really thinking about us, and take the time once in a while to have some fun while working on this great game.

I'm with KANE OG on this.
The four leaf clover may simply be another dp removing item.
But if I were to dream:
The "lucky" brew (or whatever it is called), when you reach lvl 4 or 5 of being drunk, you see the "lucky" clover charms on your screen or even dancing Leprechauns..taunting you that you got no stamina when it comes to being drunk.

My money's on the Clovers being like the rainbow candy canes, providing some sort of Morale boost.
lucifer_uk
I can only wish they were part of the luck title track.... otherwise I'll be concentrating on the booze all weekend
Zapper901
*sigh* This weekend sounds really cool. Why do I have to be leaving at 12:00 on Friday and coming back late Sunday night?! Stupid vacation....

They won't visibly celebrate St. Patrick's Day because of the religious link. But they are offering something similar like they did with Wintersday.
borik oakwood
darn religious link we need shamrocks and big tall guys with sticks beating pagan warlords!
Yaga Philipe
^lol^
I don't think it has anything to do with the next chapter, it's just for St Patties day.
