Dire Phoenix?

I have just charmed a Phoenix and went to Ice tooth to level it for dire evo. I took it from lvl 5 to lvl 11 on the minotaurs. The pet killed the mino's and did well over 95% of the damage.

On reaching lvl 11 I thought they achieved their title, playful, aggresive.

Well it has none, is the Phoenix stuck at elder pet or can dire evo be acheived?

I have a dire pheonix, so it is possible. If i remember correctly mine became aggresive at level 12 and then dire at 15. Just make sure the pet deals as much damage as possible, which it sounds like your doing, but doesn't die at all.

Thanks unfortunalty he has died one time I went link dead and when I came back in he was dead and I was being pounded on. I was gone for too long and PB and SB were worn off. I hope one time does hurt the ability to make it dire.

If a pet dieing once meant it could no longer become Dire, Death Leveling would be the only method of ever attaining one. Aslong as your letting it kill to get to lvl20 it'll become Dire.

I just leveled a Phoenix to Dire and found that the name didn't reflect the evolution until I changed the name to something and then renamed it nothing again with "/namepet".

I'm not sure if it is quicker but things seemed slow outside of Ice Tooth after I reached 11 so I went to Elona Reach with 1 monk hero to keep me alive and leveled him on the Minatours there which seemed to go quicker.

Where do you get a phoenix? Is it the best pet?

You can get the phoenix in the end game area of factions.
