I'm starting to get quite collection of bonus items:
  • Factions preorder (2 weapons)
  • Nightfall preorder (2 weapons)
  • Prophecies One Million Edition (7 weapons)
and so.. when I want just one weapon for a pvE characters (who's inventory is always pretty full) and it creates them in order and I don't get the item I want this can be pretty frustrating.

So... this is the idea if the /bonusitem command were changed to include a text string after it for a weapon eg: /bonusitem Tiger's Roar would create a Tiger's Roar and no other items.

Anyone else think this is a better way to obtain bonus items?

Good idea, I'm getting tired of having to type /bonus for only one item.

What also might work is when you type /bonus, you see a small window much like the 'unclaimed items' window you see at the end of a mission. This way you can select one or mutiple weapons which will be added to your inventory.

I like the 2nd idea, showing them all in a window that you can then drag to your inventory.

yep, that sounds like a better idea, to be honest. I think the bonus item emote is long overdue a change in functionality.

This is a GREAT idea. I collect prophecies preorder keys. I have one from every store except for the ithas bow. I even have the chimeric prism. When I type /bonus 16 items appear in my inventory. That means if I want the 16th one I need to make room for 16 items and then delete the others when I am done. It would be GREAT to have a little window appear that will let me choose the one I want.

They also made all preorder keys not moddable. It would be GREAT to let them be usable in that way again.

*I will continue to keep my eye out for a unused ithas bow key to complete my collection*

I have 5 preorder items added to my acc.
Getting 5 free slots on a pve char is a challenge, and having to delete all those unneeded items is also an annoyance.
Buying the Prophecies One Million Edition (7 weapons) is a big No for me just because getting 12 free slots is often just impossible.
It wouldn't be hard to implement as it could be based on the 'unclaimed items' window, just make it open when the command is typed.

Instead of the /bonusitems emote (or in addition to it), I'd like a bonus items NPC that worked the same way as the festival hat NPC, offering you your bonus items for free. In fact, it could be a new task the festival hat NPC.

It would both feel more in line with the game world, and give you a choice of which bonus items to get (rather than to get them all).

The NPC would obviously have to be accessible early in the game.

Or even any kind of menu interface, NPC-based or not. When I want one of the bonus items, I don't like it throwing up all ten of them into my inventory.

After reading two complains about this... I finally had this another idea:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...31#post2468831

The 'bonus tab' of that idea is the fastest, easiest, and user-friendlier way to get those items.

That's funny, I was just about to start a thread on this. My main character has 7 or 8 spaces free in inventory, and with preorder and special edition items it isn't enough to hold all of them when I /bonus, so I have to move some of my storage stuff onto another character and clear out some of my inventory everytime I want to use it. IMHO we are overdue for a better way.

What I was thinking of was the create items window for pvp characters (J key). Why not assign a new key, like B, so that it would open a simple window listing the bonus items for your account. You select the item, click create, and it appears in your inventory customized for you, similar to pvp stuff. That way you only make what you need, and you don't have to worry about clearing out your inventory just to make room for it. Simple and practical.
