...for taking money for no reason? Or let's say I give someone 10k, and he doesn't give me anything, can I get him banned? Probably not, right?

Sounds like donating. Why should someone get banned for getting money for free?

People can't ''steal'' money. Wether it's a trade, or other scams, like duplicating items after you drop them in an explorable area.
I assume you are talking about trading, during a trade both persons have to accept. So basically it would be your fault if you accept.

my husband and I (two separate accounts) routinely give each other stuff without asking for anything in return.....he has the dye storage so he gets all he dyes I collect.....we trade materials----my silk is at 250 so I give him all the ones I get......we have never had a problem with this, nor has anet to our knowlegde.
Lots of people have 2 accounts as well and move stuff around from one account to the other....so this would not be any different I think.

If you conned someone into just giving you gold (chat logs don't lie), then you could get banned, maybe only for a day or two. But if someone just gives you money for the heck of it, then it's no issue.

If you've made an agreement with someone for a trade, you need to be very careful in reviewing the trade window before hitting the accept button. Buyer beware!! Whether that person gets banned or not has no bearing on your getting your money/items back, because you won't.

If you are just donating some small sum to someone, you shouldn't get banned. People exchange money, items, etc. all the time.

However, on a more negative note, I wouldn't recommend buying EBay gold on an alternate account or something and then "donate it" to your primary account. Stuff like that could possibly lead you to being banned. Don't take that risk.

You can't get banned for scamming people like that in game anyway, ONly for breaking the terms and agreements or EULA or what not

I've traded money/ecto/mats between my accounts on a daily basis sometimes and I still have 3 working accounts.

I've gave guildies 100k before and yet I'm still here
I've made cash only trades running into the many hundred k's yet I'm still here

Don't worry about it, even if you do get caught out, a simple E-Mail should sort it.

Me and my guildies regularly donate unwanted items to each other, never had any problems before. It's not scamming if both parties are consenting.

If it's about large sums, like 100K+ then Anet might get suspicious for things like Ebaying. 10K is fairly harmless I think.

I got to agree with you there. Small donations I doubt ANET cares about, but they probably have code in where if someone gets large donations or multiple large donations, it makes a note and they "investigate."
