heya.
i've recently found out that my trusty old P3 actually CAN run GW. strangely enough though, when i go to the ATI catalyst settings, i find out that the AGP is disabled, and i can't seem to get it to enable. i'm not sure about the specs of the computer. it's been upgraded in pieces for the last 7 years or so. here's what i know about it:
ASUS CUSL2 ACPI motherboard chipset
pentium 3 900mhz (OC from 800mhz)
512mb ram
ATI radeon 9200SE AGP
thanks in advance.

*cough*
alright, i've flashed my bios to the latest version i can find, but it's still no go. i can't turn on AGP acceleration.
from what i can gather, my mobo has AGP Pro 4x. the card i have should be 4x/8x compatible, since it's from that generation of cards. the catalyst control centre is the latest i can find, and it simply cannot turn on AGP aceleration. on that slider, there's only 3 notches: AGP off, and two blanks. when i slide it all the way up, the computer asks for a restart, and resets back to AGP off once it start up again.
edit: i think i've solved part of the problem. apparently, win2k does not support the chipset, which is intel 815E. i applied a patch that came with the CD, and i can get up to AGP 2x. i found the latest version of the patch (which is INF, or something like that), but still cannot get AGP 4x.

Try this: http://www.ccleaner.com/
It works wonders on optimizing older machines by removing unnecessary registry entries and general junk. I know its a software method, of course, but it gave my sister's laptop a new lease of life. I got a couple more fps on GW myself by purging the HDD of trash.
I can't help with the AGP issue though, sorry.
