Interrupt its skills, store up points on the spear of archimorous and then drop it near him to do massive damage.

Ranger is pretty good on this whole mission. Broadhead Arrow can help with Argo too, and then Savage or Distracting Shot for the Jade Fury. Alternatively, a warrior with distracting blow should be good too.
Interrupting Ressurect is optional. Killing the Kraken Spawns can recharge the spear, which speeds up killing the boss, and that's why some people say interrupt one skill. Others would rather just concentrate on the boss so they try to keep both skills interrupted.
Good luck.

As suggested above, the main threat of the kraken is its "jade fury" skill. You have to consistently interrupt it, and if you manage it, you're all set.
If you have Nightfall, you can have your heroes costumized to deal with the interruptions. If not, the players will have to get interrupts, as none of the henchmen available are capable of interrupting.
Dipending upon your class, different skills should be used.
Warriors may want to choose an attack speed enhancing skill coupled with disrupting chop. This disables the skill for a while.
Rangers have the magnificant Broadhead arrow available, which makes the kraken practically harmless. The kraken mostly stands still, so hiting is no trouble at all. Also consider disrupting shot, as it also disables the skill for an additional period of time.
Mesmers should have no trouble at all. Just make sure you have enough interrupts, as they do take some time to recharge.
The other classes may want to go for their own interrupt skills, or they may want to switch to a mesmer secondary, packing leech signet and signet of disruption. The skills require no energy, and if you keep killing a nearby kraken spawn, the kraken will waste time resurrecting those too.
If all else fails, join a PUG with someone that's already half full with heroes. By now, he has probably learned how good they are at interrupting

I thought Jade Fury was a monster skill for some reason, and not a spell. Been awhile since I did Boreas and usually brought my ranger for broadhead arrow. You're right of course, a mesmer would be just fine if they were set up to interrupt every 8 seconds or so.

necro with spinal shivers (i think anyway, well the skill which when the target is attacked with cold dmg their skills are interupted)
necro can take wand which does cold dmg.
ranger / warriors with icy weps to interupt skills.
if no necro is available bring lots of interupts for wariror and rangers.
