Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I've NEVER seen that digital rendering before, and I've seen all of them. ( I think)

Looks like a Canthan background, but why would Anet draw up a digital rending of a person, for a simple Xunlai Tournament? Plus, he doesn't have the armor of the normal Xunlai Tournament Agents, see picture below on the link given.

Maybe Anet drew this up because they knew Tournament House is going to be the new traditional thing...but....seems like alot of work for this, although they did do one for Wintersday this year.

It looks like a Kurzick warrior. That would also explain the Canthan background.

For some reason, they've had the Competitive section still Factions based.

The armor does look like the Kurzick warriors from the Factions cinematic, but I don't recall ever seeing a helm quite like that. At any rate, I don't really feel like re-watching the cinematic at the moment.

yeah it is in the art book, I missed it because I was looking for that actual rendering not a sketch but I also watched the cinematic and the armor on the warrior is spot on minus the helm

True, they have been more focused on making sure Factions isn't forgotten, and that all 3 campaigns are as equal as they can be.

But I don't think it looks like a Kurzick warrior, I picture a Kurzick warrior being more pale, and this guy looks something different......



Thats right, its a NORSE helmet. And its been (although not confirmed) that helmet looks very similiar to the one on Guildwars.com

That kind of nose headgear was common in Norse, Viking and Icelandic cultures, and it was a good idea! Of course the idea was to protect the nose...but thats way off topic .

Point is, the next chapter is speculated to be in the Northern Regions, and you know how Anet is, so if North means Norse...we're looking at a good example of headgear.
