Ok so here i was playing on my derv who had survivor title, 500,000 exp about. i decided that i should just beat the Dasha Vestibule mission and cap some skills to get more exp. well you know those ice and fire thingies? well i did not see it going to i decided to go through it. it started spamed "ice something" xx damg, it killed me in 4 sec literally. that whole time i did not see any animation from its effect. me and my whole group was dead (hero/henchies) so i type in /deaths and I SEE A ,"You have died 1 time"!!!!!! in all the previous mission that have almost instant dead through environment effects such as the mission Jokanur Diggings with its falling object and Consulate Docks with its fire breathing instant death dragon thingies, it does not count as a death. Yet this was an environment induced death and no enemies were nearby it counted as a death.. i was very very upset because i wanted to carry this title through to gw2 via HoM...So my question is why isn't that considered an environment effect? etc...

It does 20 DPS, but has a significant slowdown effect but with decent monks it should never be a problem. Be a bit more careful next time... |
I think that it is wise for the survivor title to scout all missions and such with another character first. That way you can discover the pitfalls and specific parts of a mission first. Also the end of that mission is tricky with the fire ele boss so there's another good chance to die.
All in all it seems like a bad idea to go in with a survivor without knowing what you will encounter but that's just my view on that.

One thing that's always been bugging me is that the ice trap's damage/slowdown effect lasts longer than the graphics and sound effect. You see that white jet of ice across the path and once it vanishes you think the path is clear. But it isn't for another 5 seconds or so. And no, this is not lag. I know it by now but someone else in my party falls for it every single time I do the mission. Not that much of an issue, though, more like an annoying glitch.
