since alot of us will base our characters on our guild wars 1 characters, if you wanted the same name, make extra spaces for III, fo example, ok my name

Or you could just have it so that people can name their GW2 characters the same thing as their GW characters.

Seriously, the game isn't coming out for another 2 years, at least wait for the beta to start making these suggestions.
