Just fantasizing about an idea for GW2 really..a sort of armor mould, maybe when you get the the "high-end" armor you could be presented with a moulding screen to truley make it custom.
I don't know if the technology would be around to implement this on a large scale such as guild wars, but it would certainly give the world a good RP feel, i would also suggest the same for weapons and off hand items, but maybe thats a stretch too far.
Although weilding your own Personal weapons would be very cool.
(except for the "i'm weilding the noob sword of noobster slaying" people ;-)
What do you guys think?
REAL armor crafting, for an anti-clone universe

Sounds like a good idea!

custom made armour would be a godsend to me. I know ALL of my money would go on multiple sets for all. [self confessed armour addict over here btw]

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, and how you see it working.
But the way i see it working, is that once you have your 15k/high end armor, you would go to one of these armor crafters and manipulate the armor somehow.
Change aspects of it in terms of its shape, or add things to the armor?
Since we can already dye armor, I think thats the only way to go about it.
I like the idea, but I think it should be very simple to use and limited. Perhaps offer players the ability to add bits to armor in a purely athetic way. Such as...
bigger shoulder pads,
spikes,
animated flames,
bigger cloves.
Basically offer an array of different addons or armor to make it look different. Some addons being only available for 15k armor and certain professions.
And charge varied prices for them, ranging from cheap to stupidly expensive for 15k addons. If thats how you see it working, then im all for it.
The more variety and the more you can customise armor, the more varied it would be. They could even then introduce festive add-ons that you can wear all year round.
They wouldnt offer any actual bonuses to stats or armor. They would be purely athetic. That way its not unfair if you can afford them.

Sounds a bit time consuming for a piece of armor, but I like it.

Wah... although it sounds realy good... it would be HELL for the game... or at least quite limited, very limited.
