hard mode! will this affect my "kind of a big deal" title!?

with the announcement of this hard mode comming very soon, i have one major concern....ive pretty much done everythnig i can possibly do in guild wars other than farm, so i am working on my "kind of a big deal" title which ive been working on for the past 2 months or so. currently i only need to explore 40% of elona to get the title....my concern-will i have to beat each campaign over again on hard mode to get the max title again?! it took me long enough to get protector of each continent!

By the sounds of it, no you will not. I think they're going to add the Guardian of XXX as a separate title that you can work on if you want to.

However, Gaile I believe did mention that as they add more titles, they're going to add more levels to the whole KoaBD title track.

I can't find the threads as they are several months old, but Gaile stated when "hard mode" first mentioned that it would not affect current completed Protector titles. If you have not gained the Protector title you will have two titles in list for normal and hard modes.

This is by far the most frequently asked question about hard mode. Did you really think ANet wouldn't consider it? Gaile has said several times that the Protector title won't be devaluated.

The question is: What is the protector title worth these days? With good SF/MM heroes you can simply steamroll pretty much every mission in any campaign. Missions that were considered tough once are now a walk in the park. Recently I did Vizunah Square masters with heroes/henchies at first attempt (the other team was 100% henchies). Back in the days I struggled for 3 weeks until I finally got masters.

It seems that everybody has a KOABD character these days. But everybody knows that the protectors aren't the hard part. The hard part is the wallhugging. Hard not because it is difficult, but because it's so damn boring and tiresome.

I wouldn't mind if it would add to the KobD title track, all 3 chapters would put be into People Know Me.....and if they ever do change the Elite Skill Title, then I'll be into whatever the next one is called.

I feel that the protector titles devalue the KoaBD title because they are so easy to get. I would much rather display a better title like top tier skill hunter or the like. I have protector of all 3 continents and the only mission I found particularly difficult was raisu palace. As tetris said, with heroes it it possible to steamroll everything. Thunderhead keep used to be hard and many people would stuggle on it for weeks, i know i did. But with heroes and flagging its not all the difficult.

I mean a KoaBD title with 3 cartographers, skill hunter and say drunkard shows only to be worth the same as 2 cartographers and 3 protectors (or even a sweet tooth in there). I'm not devaluing the cartographer title, i do think that is very time consuming and sometimes difficult (100% tyria, 99% cantha, 96% elona here) but would i hide my skill hunter title and make it look like im a protector (because people may assume i took the easy route).

This problem is fixed with the People know me tier, 10 maxed titles is quite a feat, even with 4 easily maxed ones.

Also I dont see the problem with hard mode affecting protector titles, if it makes them harder to get, it makes my KoaBD worth all the more if you follow what i say.

Hope I dont sound too cynical, after all I am aiming for KoaBD with 2 cartographers and 3 protectors, but maybe once i get a maxed skill hunter I will show that rather than my KoaBD.
