Is Nighftall a dying campaign?
God Is A Sniper
I don't want to start my first post here negatively (been playing for 14+ months) but I've noticed that most missions/outposts don't have more than one district open at a time, and there's hardly any people in each district (at least in Vabbi).

Isn't that the case with most of the game?

Are these doom and gloom threads lame and tiring? Yes.

Loads of people are there on Weekends at about 7PM-4AM EST. Thats when i try to do the missions.

Try heading to prophcies, shiverpeaks, and tell me that prophecies is a dying game also.

I think unless there's a huge increase in the amount of players, places will become less populated because of the increase in the world size with new chapters. People will also migrate between areas after becoming burnt out on playing one area too much....well thats how I am

Whats the point of ANOTHER thread like this?

i don't think so. i think it depends on the time of day you are logged in. in my experience, there has never been a lack of people to play with. except for the torment areas. you can never really find enough players there. however, vabbian areas and the desolation are always filled.
one town that will never be emptied, i think, will be pre-searing ascalon. that's the best place to lounge.

These threads are just as dumb as the guy that said the above quote.

The expansion will help consolidate the playerbase by tying in all the existing areas, I think it will do wonders in improving the situation.
But, I play 7-12 hours a day, I haven't seen too many places I would call a ghost town. Kamadan is nearly always busy, and Gate of Torment had me in District 3 a few minutes ago.

And I agree with the constructive posts that were made in this topic. Nothing is dying except for the monsters.

At some point they might have to go back to the old system and merge the districts to 1 again insted of having eng1,ger1,spa1 etc etc. and maybe sometime when GW2 is released they could merge the european&american server into one. Because it's like someone said, usually you are alone in the outposts if you don't bring guildies or visit a spam WTS/WTB outpost
Just my 2 cents...

Really depends where you are.. some missions are easy enough that you should be able to hero/hench it.

Most parts of all three campaigns are desolate. You can't find people for groups to do missions or quests with and the only people around use Heroes anyways. It's true this is nothing new, but later when ch4 comes out we'll all be back to complaining (either out loud or to ourselves) about the influx of new players into the forums and game.

I quite agree with op here. I know there are quite a lot of people at most towns during peak hours, but not everyone playing on US server lives in USA. Just like not everyone playing on European server lives in Europe. So we can't stay up at 3am in the morning just to be in peak hours of the server. Unless we are all unemployed bumps, we are either have work or study to attend during daytime. We don't buy Guild Wars just so we can enjoy playing during 3am hour, we want to be able to enjoy the game any time we want.

In my opinion, Nightfall is the best chapter so far. If it's dieing, Factions and Prophecies must be dieing twice as much.
There is some truth to that though. Each chapter only offers so much content. After completeing the storyline missions, there really is no more content left to do. PvP only last so long, and so does repeating missions and starting new characters.
I'm quite happy that Anet decided to hold off on releasing the chapter by spring, as the new chapters just couldn't provide enough in the short time they were made in. Only problem now, is the playerbase is going to keep decreasing and people get bored and find nothing left to do, which will yield lost customers. The way I see it, is that they should provide some good free content until then at least.
In any case, despite having doubts about certain aspects of Guild Wars 2 (*cough*highlevelcap*cough*), I do have high enough hopes that it will fix these issues with its higher flexibility and potential.

The only campaign I enjoyed for PvE was Prophecies. I would have continued to enjoy future releases had they kept up with "skill" reward quests. When Prophecies was the only one out I would even delete a character to do the pre-searing (which was great) and skill quests for a new class. I have never cared about armor or l33t "looking" weapons and still to this day I don't. Which for me is why PvE became bland. I have finished nightfall with my paragon just to say I have and am about 3/4 of the way with my monk but that was awhile back. The lack of human interaction with the addition of heroes makes a guy feel like he isn't playing an On-line game.

Denravi doesn't offer much for those who decide not to skip the jungle completely. Two !'s can be seen when you get there, one being the primary quest to get you out of there and the other is not even a quest, just some npc saying "I'm watching you!" when you click it. Later the titan quest won't keep you long there either, because it's the easiest of the titan quests.
So there's no reason to hang around in Denravi unless you really like the scenery.

don’t want to compare wow with gw, but the city's in WoW are very nice!
i miss the feeling of going indoors in GW, like when u go to a merchant u go in to a shop.
A good example is kaineng center, a lot of houses but everything is outside.
the npc's always stand outside
Even when u play in a cave it doesn’t give the feeling u are inside the cave.

Not completely on topic but does anyone else agree that Party Search hasn't worked? I try to use it a lot - but no-one else does.
It's a good thing they introduced heroes with NF. Everyone is so spread out now that the game is mainly about heroes than PUGs.
I am starting to see the idea of GW:EN. We don't need a new continent. The idea of new explorable areas connecting the EXISTING towns is a master-stroke. Also hard mode - more challenge, existing areas. Great.
The only drawback is that GW:EN, if not a standalone, won't add new players. It may, however, get some retired players back, and keep some existing ones around longer.
Maybe the best thing will be when they release a Deluxe pack with all three campaigns and the expansion. This will get some new blood in.
