Windows Vista and Guild Wars

I emailed Guild Wars Technical Support about Windows Vista,
here is what they had to say.

Hello Walter,

Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Technical Support. Unfortunately, Windows Vista is not a supported operating system for Guild Wars. The only supported operating systems are Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 98, and Windows ME. You might be able to play without any problems, but we cannot be sure how the game will work on an unsupported OS. You would need to switch to a supported OS for us to assist you with this issue. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

All new computers being sold have Windows Vista installed on them now.
So get over your self and make the patch for Windows Vista, and stop being a jerk! Unless you are going to buy and give away other versions of windows make the damn patch.

I think your response might get you a temp. ban.

And it runs fine on vista, even better, less lags actually, well my computer is good to start with anyways.

And whats the point of a patch? Games like CoH, and SupCom, and FlightSimX are going to release patches, because the patch allows the game and the player to take advantage of DX10. Since the GW engine is not changed, there is no point in a patch. If they were to release one, it would be DLed on your computer through the streaming system actually...all I had to say.

First i hate vista will not comment further due to fear of legal issue.

Second your better off using other OS that are supported

Third Its stated black and white in recommended specification

Note:Changing Vista to lower end OS might have undesirable effects will not comment further.

You option are:

1.Change your OS
2.Act Childish call name whatever and leave it as it is

Well since you went to all the effort to post a thread and ask the question.
I think you are a very rude/spoiled child and your parents should beat you before someone else does just from your horrid manners and rude behavior.

I think OP needs to be a bit more mature towards ArenaNet.

GW runs fine for me on Vista. So it's likely a problem with your drivers not being updated/supported for Vista. Google around, and you'll find something if you're that desperate. Or just install Windows XP as well in addition to Vista, since Vista doesn't offer much more to the average user.

Gaile mentioned in one of her captured chat logs there making GuildWars Vista Certified.

You ask what we think? I think that's a very harsh and inappropriate response and it makes me sad that someone had to read that.
