Based on the pictures in PC Gamer Magazine..
I thought that they were more Science Fiction-ish than Traditional Fantasy. I love fantasy and I would probably be disappointed that Guild Wars 2 will introduce guns and bombs and be less inclined to buy it. I read the magazine and I thought that the magazine said somewhere that you would be able to make things explode? I don't know if by exploding, they mean Fire Magic or man-made explosives. Anyways, what would you guys think if there was alot more science-fiction in Guild Wars 2 rather than Fantasy?
Will Guild Wars 2 be more Science Fiction based?

issac asimov and piers anthony have some realy good rants about the differences between sci fi and fantasy, hunt them down if you care, I assume no one does so I'll move on
steampunk would make me immensly happy, here's why
in neal stephenson's "the diamond age" you see steam punk represented as hypertechnological, nanotech, even probably post cyberpunk
in things like final fantasy you get <in some cases> a MUCH less technological feeling out of the thing <though there always is some savant>
the thing is it can run the gamut and is a VERY flexible artistic style
now say it with me "era is an artistic descision"
I'm happy with the work the art people on GW have done thus far, they're the only people I have no complaints against I think

Usually, there seems to be a lack technological ambition in fantasy worlds full of magic. You can jump ahead in time a thousand years, the technology will still be medeval. Why make a computer when you can ask a local seer to predict the future? Why have a flametrower when you can use meteor already? Who needs a tank when you can just find a bonder?
