1. Drops in Tyria/Canta should contain INSIGNIA and weapons with INSCRIPTIONS.
2. All armor, including old armor, should be upgraded to the Insignia system.

Inscription is the exclusive feature from Nightfall ONLY. Unless you play and win HoH or else whoever have Prophecy or canthan only should not have access to inscription weapons/amours. Only can buy inscrip weapons but can not buy inscrp amours! Not even FoW/UW have those kind of inscrip weapons. The only way for canthan/prophecy can get inscrip amours is to buy FoW amour and/or buy nightfall!

And why must it be exclusive?
I would also like to see the faces of people if GWEN does not have inscriptions or insignia. After all, it is Nightfall only...

I rarely see anyone in Prophecies armor anymore. One, because some are not as detailed as the newer armor sets. Two, because the inherent mods are not ideal for most uses.
I would love to have 1.5k or 15k Prophecies Rogue's armor for my Mesmer, because I love the look, but the stats are not the ones I like. I want to put Radiant insignias on it, not extra armor against physical damage. For many builds, energy is more important that armor.
Another example are the Prophecies Elementalist sets. The different styles should reflect the type of Ele who's wearing them, not what kind of damage they provide a smidge more protection from. Aeromancer, Geomancer, Pyromancer and Hydromancer... especially the 15k Marhan's variants. I'm sure they'd see more use if they were insignia-ready. Generic protection against elemental damage would work fine with these, akin to many Ranger armor sets.
Tyrian and Canthan armors need to be updated to match Elonian sets. Anet did it for FoW, they should do it for all!

Didn't Gail just comment on this issue? Reworking the old armors would require a major rewrite of the source code. Yes, it would be cool. Is it worth the time and effort? Absolutely not.

If Gaile or you really think you need to rewrite SOURCE code to change the armors in the database, you are quite mistaken.

They have changed the old armors in the past, adding inscriptions really wouldn't be a problem.
However, as it's a feature of NF, and one of its selling features, it probably - just like material storage - will not be added to past campaigns until the next campaign arrives.
As for weapons, the player in me really wants inscriptions in Tyrian and Canthan weapons, but the trader in me really would despise that idea...so I'm torn.

Armor in Tyria already has the insignias IN the armor. You want a certain type of insignia? Buy that variant of the armor. True that there are some insignias that are not present on those armors, but the most widely used ones such as the energy + armors are already readily available in Tyria.
Inscriptions.. I don't think they should be implemented into the other campaigns either. That's what makes the campaigns unique IMHO. Tyria is the original, Factions has AB, NF has inscriptions.

Not so sure about inscribeable weapons...
but /signed definitely for insignias on armour. Some Tyrian sets - 15k Aeromancer, Knight's and some of the necro armours are absolutely beautiful, why do their bonuses have to suck?

/signed for armor, but keep in mind that it could take a long time to implament. Anybody else remember how long it took them to update Prophecies armor stats when they changes the modifiers on several sets of armor in Factions release?

Curse You
If they were to change the armour, it would be better if they changed Tyrian armour to be like Canthan armour. This way you wouldn't be able to use the Nightfall exclusive insignias.

So you guys are saying that you don't want any given type of Tyrian armor style to have any given type of modifier on it?
That doesn't make sense... if someone wants 15k Necromancer armor in the Bonelace style (once again I'm referring to the Marhan's Grotto stuff), but to be Cabalist's/Radiant in nature, then they're just plain out of luck?
I would love to have that kind of option.

New Tyria/Canthan armors should be changed to use insignias. Or at least as an option along with the current. If they can do it for fow armor they can do it for all the others.

Well I do understand that everyone want something new. They always want to have things that other people have with the least cost. But as someone said earlier, this will be hard. The coding to change everyone amour description will not be 1-2 pages of codes. It will be 10x more than that! And it's not fair for those who buy both or even all 3 campaigns. Paying more and have the same thing as buying 1? In order to have the outlook of prophecy amour, I think it's best to have the campain's upgrader! Any amour we buy from prophecy or canthan can be upgraded to use insigna. But this upgrader guy appear ONLY in Nightfall!
/sign if it's like that else still 100x not sign!

That said, having to change all of the function's on the armour will not take a lot of time to actually code in, but to apply to the populace will take a long time (See the Knight's Armour patch).
Yes for the armour.
As for weaponry, who cares about the market? It's already wacked out anyway.

/sign for both Maybe just add a weapon/armor smith who can give you an insigna, inscription upgrade in the hard area.
I feel really wacked using a Platinum bow with 15% enchanted mod.
Beside there are players who dont give a damn about GW market.
Beside games with out a change is a dead game.

I love the idea to be able to upgrade one of the Tyrian armors to whatever insignias you prefer to use.
Weapons : I don't really care tbh
Edit : Canthan armors i don't really think its needed since you are able to buy any stats with same look

I wonder what the market problem is.
Most of my weapons are already devalued more or less.
Flamberges now drop with Inscription slots. Many other weapons, too, with a few exceptions. My old 15^50 r10 Flamberge is really dated compared to this.
But it had no value on the market anymore anyway - because I customize and use all my weapons, hear hear!
I also think Inscriptions allow us to change mistakes of the past or issues that arise due to changes.
My Ritualist has +5 AL per Spirit armor - which is now totally screwed as Spirit Spam is no longer really viable. I would like to change it - but without inscriptions, no chance. And I am not going to buy 15K Luxon again, costs quite some money.
Then another issue: Necro Tormentor Armor. I prefer it for PvE. But now my precious 15K Kurzick is screwed, as it is bugged this way (confirmed in bugs forum): Older Tormentor's that got upgraded to the new stats of Tormentor Armor simply get all the negative effects (+holy damage) but lose the +10 Armor.
Instead of fixing here, fixing there - have a consistent weapons and armor system for all chapters of the game.
If GW:EN would not have insignia or inscriptions, or if HARD mode would have no inscriptions or Insignia in Tyria and Cantha, would this not suck? I do not even bother to go back to Tyria or Cantha because everything that drops there is mostly rubbish compared to Nightfall drops.

Its a sales technique!!!!
Anet does that to obviously give insentives for people to purchase the other campaigns.
Its not because their being unfair, its them doing something very intelligent to make money.
You obviously have to have a unique features to each game, otherwise why bother buying a new campaign?

Having equal armor abilities over all three campaigns won't imbalance the economy. All people are going to do is get the armor they want to have.
For the elitist, this is a bad thing, because all the "hot" and "rare" armor right now is in Nightfall. It's upgradeable, it's detailed, and the best part is, it's only available to people who have enough money to buy Nightfall. The only people who don't want the new armor capabilities transfered over to the other two campaigns are elitist who will lose that "flare" that they delude themselves into thinking they had in the first place.
/Signed for armor capabilities.
As for the weapons, how the frack is it going to mess up the economy!? Show me where the hell you people are pulling these predictions from and maybe I'll start listening. Every time a new campaign for Guild Wars comes out, the market always adapts to the new weapons, materials, etc. What makes you think Prophecies and Factions is different?

/Not signed, leave Proph and Factions alone. They all have their 'unique' drops, and giving insig is just going to cheapen them.
Armour, well, no.
Armour, well, no.
NevynZeddicus
from what i can tell, the market is already flooded with insignias, so its not like adding them to prophecies and factions is going to matter much. You can't be in a major trade center 10 seconds without seeing people spamming inscription sales. if that's what you're trying to protect, that bridge went up in flames already.
As far as the armor goes, who really cares? As Felix said, only those with their e-peens attached to their armor.

Or better yet, give back incentive for ppl who started with factions/NF and add insignias to armor as well as other new goodies. It's not like proph/factions make zero profit after NF; just not 1 million copies in 1 week or whatever.
